Tanner the Original Scout™ Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 The title says it all. You can request a PC build for a specified price or let me evaluate on your build/planned build in this thread. However, I have some very simple ground rules: NO UNREALISTIC BUDGETS. This mostly pertains to $10k builds or anything under $300. PLEASE SPECIFY YOUR CURRENCY. I will assume you are using USD if you do not specify your local currency or if I don't know your currency firsthand. I MAY BE A LITTLE BIASED. This is mostly towards Nvidia and its extreme abandonment of Kepler. STATE IF YOU WANT AN OPERATING SYSTEM. I will not count it towards your budget if you do not state so. STATE WHAT YOU WANT YOUR PC FOR. This is more or less common sense but eh, might as well throw it out there. If you absolutely must, you can PM me if you don't want to talk about your build in this thread or have any questions.
Fenrir Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I would like a PC in the range of 500 - 700$. Looking for one with the ability to play a game like Skyrim or Fallout with intense graphical modifications. OS doesn't matter to me, and I use USD. Would like for the graphics card to be the most expensive part of the build.

ForeverYourMonster Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 There appears to be an error, the minimum requirements for that R9 280 specifically state that a 750W PSU is required, therefore the CX750 would be the correct PSU choice. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040 After looking through some reviews, it apparently works fine with a smaller PSU, but there would be no room to overclock; I personally wouldn't risk it.

Im running a gtx 770 with a 500 watt psu,(requirement is 600w) and an r9 280 is pretty good, no need to overclock, 600 w psu will do fine

It more or less pertains to its recommended processor (FX 8350), but since this is an Athlon, it can easily be lowered.

Unl3Ash3d Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Heya, looking for some help. Budget is $500-700 USD, and would like to run TF2, CSGO, and Dota at max (from what I've heard, this doesn't call for an extremely expensive build). I would want Windows 8 pref, and also a monitor. thanks

Those recommendations are to cover their own ass. I use a 450W psu with an OC i7 and a 970 with no issues. A 280 will never draw more than 250W, even if CPU draws 100W and the rest of the system draws 50W (massive overestimates) that leaves 200W overhead. Typically 20% or 100W is the smallest overhead I would use.
Ringz Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Hi, I'm completely new to this forum, pc building, etc. Just saw this thread when I was searching through google.Anyway, in regards to my request, if you're still doing this stuff:I want to know about three different builds based on three different budgets(if possible). $500 USD, $1000, and $2000. All in all, I'm just curious and trying to get an idea on what to get based on those requests/details. If it's not possible, just tell me.Going for a silent, gaming, and workstation(ex: vid editing, photo editing, office work, that sort of stuff) pc. OS will be, obviously windows of at least 7, though by moving with the times, maybe windows 8.And this is optional, but I also want the pc to have a black/blue theme. And finally, what you think would be the best preferred monitor/mouse that will go with it. This one is also totally optional. If there's any other details you want to know about what I'm looking for, message me.Thanks in advance.

I forgot to add this in, but as a question, will this play games on high settings like, for example, The Witcher 3, Dragon Age Inquisition, or Blade and Soul?(Just to name a few) Overclockable? Also, for the $2k budget, is the absence of memory on purpose? Again, I'm a totally noob/amateur/ beginner at pc building, so do excuse my ignorance. Also, thanks a bunch for the fast reply.

Oh, I forgot about the memory Yes, it'll play Witcher 3, DAI and Blade and Soul at high. If you can for the 5960X build, get a Corsair H100i.
