Othan1 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hello everyone, I have been premium on tf2 for a little under a month now (been playing tf2 a little bit since christmas) atm i have about 10 keys in metal and a few items. The main reason i am asking this question is because i hear unusuals take a long time to sell and if i go out and spend 12 keys on an unusual and it takes me a week to sell then i might have been able to make more profit trading normal items as i wouldn't have enough to trade both at the same time. Another reason i am asking is because i have seen these lower tier unusuals referred to as "cancer" unusuals and was wondering if these are just so unpopular that people don't want to buy them at all and will be impossible to sell. So any tips on unusual trading would be very helpful Thanks for reading.

Just be careful not to end up with a cancerous unuasual (and also be careful not to pay too much--bp.tf prices aren't always 100% accurate as unusual prices can fluctuate quite a bit). Personally, i'd probably wait until you have around 1 bud, then you can get a better unusual (which general sell better), and you'll also have some wiggle room in case you make a mistake.

To expand on this, cancer unusuals are not bad and may actually generate good profit for you and may be the only thing you can buy. I'm pret sure awesome meant hardsell unusuals, such as steaming/smoking, robo/2013 effects.

Mhm Nuts and Bolts, while cancerous, are usually pretty easy sells since a lot of people are like yourself, and don't have a huge budget, but just want to get an unusual. So nb hats can often sell quite quickly (and often for quite a bit more than they should). But steaming/smoking is complete crap, robo/2013 effects are just very unstable and hyped up (more than they should be), so Avoid them. P.s. Planets/Bubbling/NB all sell pretty easily.
Professional Map Painter Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I'd buy and sell tools until you have ~50 keys. Trading multiple low tier unusuals is a great way to make profit, however if you only have one unusual to sell you will probably make ~3 keys in a week.
