ABSOLUTE MADLAD
Hello, a user, who will remain anonymous, tried to hijack my account. Luckily I was able to lock my account before any items were stolen. However, he appears to have control over my cursor. I don't know how to stop him from doing that. I'm scared that I might forget to turn off my computer and he'll hack into it. Any suggestions on how to stop him? I think the problem is resolved! No need to read this thread if you just looked at it.
Mike Hawk
Disable remote access, run an anti virus. Control panel -> systems and security -> remote access.
A Ninja
https://www.malwarebytes.org/Download this shit quick, that person can see everything your doing , everything you type , and everything you login too. Don't go on any suspicious website and DO NOT leave your computer unattended. You probably got a R.A.T . Start in safe mode please too. What type of computer do you have btw and how did you get hijacked. Can't help you more if we don't know this. Last resort is to get a computer professional to fix it or reformat your computer. Basic Way to Remove it a R.A.T not really effective though but all I can give you since I don't know if your windows or mac. http://www.wikihow.com/Detect-a-Remote-Access-to-My-Computer Btw they can hear you on your mic / see you on your webcam so block that out too. Jack Cruise NUB
Why would you care about protecting the identity of the hijacker?
A Ninja
You have two options...Option 1: Format your drive and reinstall everything. This will remove all viruses and is the quickest most efficient way to remove viruses. Will wipe your whole computer meaning you loose everything including your files.Option 2: Run virus scanners and virus removal tools until you have completely removed the viruses. This is a LONG process and you may eventually run out of option and still have to reformat your hard drive. If you choose this, follow the directions below.1. Get a REAL anti-virus program, like Avast, MSE, or Avira. Run a FULL SCAN.Allow the full scan time to complete, this may take hours.I don't know what these crappy programs you're using are, but stop using them. Uninstall them. You don't need them, and they likely won't ever find anything.2. Get Malware Bytes or Spybot: Search and Destroy, and run another full scan with one of these programs.3. Restart, do it all again. If viruses remained after the restart, then you need a more specific tool to remove the virus. Get the name of the virus off of the program that finds it and look it up. You should find instructions to remove the virus on a legit security site, likely downloading a small program. After following these directions, restart and do it all again.4. If you still can't remove the viruses: Reformat... or take it to a specialist who will likely just reformat it for you. Finally:Keep your crap up to date, Windows, Browsers, and Java, so this sort of crap doesn't happen again. Uninstall everything you don't need make sure you got no extra/downloaded programs. OR NEW DOWNLOADED PROGRAMS SUCH AS TEAM VIEWER UNINSTALL THOSE ASAP. dtn
When I got hijacked, even I'm cleaning all my pc, the virus was still there.. undetectable... Keroro1454
You should make sure you have 1. Better antivirus. I use avast, it's really good 2. Malwarebytes or something like it- its search and destroy scans are very good If all else fails, you will likely need to reformat your hard drive. Also tell us the name of the asshole so we can all mock, irritate, then block him. Although it's likely he's just a bot and you got lucky unlike other hapless noobs. Avast can't detect them for who I've talk to. Only real way to remove a R.A.T is to uninstall the program you have on your computer.

This is covered in many tech classes, but either some traders are too young to have gotten this lesson (Which usually crops up around 8th grade/Junior High Years) or just completely disregarded everything they were taught. I've had 3 kids in my class have credit card information this week alone for putting their personal information into links from Phishing emails. Gren
If I were you I'd reformat right now. Unplug from the internet first, save any files you don't have backed up to thumb stick, re-install windows, change all your passwords (steam, email, etc.) after that just to be sure. Litwick
Also, once you do all that, watch your bank/paypal VERY closely, and any other sensitive accounts. If you notice anything susp, get help ASAP, as the hijacker might have gotten access one way or another.

A Ninja
So i reformatted and changed all my passwords, does that mean I'm in the clear? Well for now? Well, you wiped your whole pc clean of all your files and everything. If you did your clear. Unless you put some stuff in a USB that has viruses then your fine. Mike Hawk
I'd still make sure remote access is turned off, and run a few anti viruses just in case.
