How to find the sale price of unusual for a suggestion

So with this big fiasco we had with the currency changes and the fact that there are many outdated unusuals that "benefit" from that I feel like we need to

start making suggestions to update the prices.

So my questions are , how do you find out the price of the sale? because most of the trades doesn't contain the price.

Probably the easy way is to add the person who bought the hat and ask him for a screenshot, but I was wondering are there any other methods to find out what exactly the unusual sold for and could be used as a proof.

And another question if an unusual e.g sold a month ago for 5 buds can we make a suggestion with the amount of keys 5 buds were a month ago?

And yes, I know my english ain't that great  :P

1) You find sales/proof like you always have? Comparing item history/Sales/comments/backpack history...etc nothing about finding the sale has changed. Backpack.tf logs your backpack each day (backpack>backpack history) you can use that to find sales as well, you see when his item "dissappeared" and what "appeared", this can take a while hence last resort. The latter method can also be unreliable, imo i find comparing item histories the easiest.

Asking for a screenshot generally doesnt go well either user cant be bothered, dont like backpack.tf or doesnt know how to.

2) No, need to re-suggest as it has already been changed automatically.

It's all about matching up histories.

I'll give an example:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24513238If you look at the history if this, you'll see that it was given to "TheAlpacaGod" because he was the next one in the history of this seller.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24516714If you look at the history of this, you'll see that it is reversed. It was given to "Train". These two item most likely sold for each other, we can't know for sure but it's almost certain. Sometimes you can also see the person offering in the comments, which he also did in this case.

That's how you find sales, these are some very helpful links:

Didn't understand you.

I meant if a hat price is outdated (and was converted to keys with the update) and there were sales 2 weeks ago in buds can you suggest a price change according to the value of buds in keys 2 weeks ago?

And thank you both for the help

Yes, use values as at time of sale, not current values.

Use the userscript zcrab linked, it's SO helpful it's not funny.
