I've caught three, in this order: Venomoth in LeafGreen, Sunkern in Diamond, and a Poliwag in X. I'd like to point out that the Venomoth was in the Safari Zone. Non-legit (from gts/trade/wondertrade) : Slurpuff and Ditto, traded the Slurpuff for an aron i think, and using the Ditto to make 'em eggs. I might've missed one wild shiny because im a dummie. Imagine if there were a method you could use to get any shiny pokemon you want, given that it's breedable. Imagine you could give a certain person your egg, and it will hatch shiny, guaranteed. Guess what: You can do this. This is a real thing. http://www.reddit.com/r/svexchange http://www.reddit.com/r/SVExchange/wiki/faq#btn Basically, every trainer and every pokemon generated has their own 'Shiny value' ranging form 0 - 4095. If the shiny value of the generated pokemon matches that of the trainer, the pokemon is shiny. This can easily be abused with pokemon eggs. Using an exploit allowing save data to be read, you can check the shiny values of all the eggs in your PC boxes, let people with a matching shiny value hatch it, and when they give it back, tada, you have a shiny version of whatever pokemon is contained within that egg. Unfortunately, unless you have a powersave, this is only possible on 'old' 3DS's that haven't been updated past v9.5.0-22. But yeah. If you have your TSV you can basically stalk the subreddit for people who have eggs matching your TSV. If you don't know yours, add me on steam, there's a way I can check it for you. If you have any questions beyond what's covered on the links above, feel free to add me on steam and I'll explain it for you. TL;DR: You can guarantee an egg hatches shiny. But anyway, back to the question OP asked: I've only ever found 4 shiny pokemon in the wild. Three of them were in the friend safari, oddly enough, but regardless.
