Good point. Those buttons are a relic of the past back when voters were meant to do their own research or to vote on only prices they were knowledgeable about. The site has evolved away from that and those buttons should be removed now.

I suggest remove the arrows and buttons to vote on the main page ( Cleverpun topic  http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/1262-remove-voting-on-main-pagelist-view/  )

Many people here know that some people when voting with not looking at the evidence but on the arrow. The arrow in the up -against "x" a down arrow -per "\/" . And when vote buttons on the main page and list views in the voting section encourages people to vote without examining a suggestion. I know from experience that if you lower the price, you can get additionally up to 20-30% of positive votes, and proofs may be not quite good.

A few  examples : I specifically made a few " amazing " suggestions with not quite good evidence base , but voted for them a lot of people (no one even doubted to write against) and have accepted them very quickly  http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51f52d9aba2536702d000011  here 1.33 refs basically quick sell price ( I looked at the whole market and sell at the price of 1.33 -5-7% of sellers )

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51f54c694bd7b8dc1400000e  and    http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51fab1344bd7b8724e000003    -almost the same here .

I understand that I made a a slight manipulation of the price (but I did it for the common good and not as this situation did not use) and agree to incur punishment (Ban ~1-2 weeks)

Here I have collected a lot of evidence and the price really needs to rise :  http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51effe474bd7b8cf40000009   http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51dc3e97ba25364c44000005   http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51efed1e4bd7b84121000008   http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51db1dffba25360b54000004

Why for the suggestions with good evidence, but with the rising price voting with less than a suggestions with proof-not quite good, but with a decrease in prices ? People will simply to do less prices suggestions with increase of because it is much more difficult than with a decrease in .I think one of the reasons is that people look at the arrows (up or down) and not on the evidence.

If people will be open price suggestion and even a little will see the proof, we will be able to reduce the percentage of empty votes.

I wonder what you think about it , I decided to put the it to a vote

P.S. Thanks Cleverpun for topic  http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/1262-remove-voting-on-main-pagelist-view/   , I am sorry that to duplicate it here

What about if you removed the name of the suggestor from the front page? I would prefer that to this, actually. A lot of people will vote based on the belt / suggestor.

Name works on the result -yes I can agree with this , more important fair price but not who made suggestion .

Think it would be better to remove the up/down arrows being on the front page. It creates speculation for the prices of items and if it's a drop many people start jumping ship, driving prices even lower :S

Can't we just get rid of the stupid people instead?

This is a stupid idea, we should rid of you.

That would take a ridiculously high amount of bans.

Stupidity is relative as well.

Another reason to get rid of voting without clicking on the suggestion is that, I'm banned for 3 days and I'm able to vote by clicking the buttons on the home page. Don't know if it still applies but It might do.

I would be very much in favor of having suggestions be anonymous (though still show how many are owned) until after the outcome of the voting is completed.  A recent issue I encountered was pyroman's suggestion on the collector's winger.  Over 85% upvotes even though it was clear the suggestion was not accurate.  It took 5 days for the admins to finally make the decision that the right thing needed to be done regardless of the majority opinion.  We would probably have much more accurate prices if there were no bias towards or against the suggester's themselves.

I think the presence of the vote buttons on the main page and list views in the voting section encourages people to vote without examining a suggestion.

I completely agree on this. Not sure why Brad/Fiskie has not fixed/added this yet. Yes, it will lower down the votes but it will also lower down the blind votes as well.

I made a unusual suggestion a while back and had proof for an entirely different unusual (My mistake when i had just started on unusual suggestions) and still got 95%+ votes. Plox remove.
