Achieving DX8 quality in DX9?

So recently, I started using DX8. It's wonderful - everything is so much clearer, burning players stand out much more and no more shiny plastic guys. But the only problem is flickering/disappearing props from time to time. Sure, I can live with this, but it gets quite tiring after a while, especially if you just want to play.

Now my question is, since DX9 is much, much more stable than DX8, how can I achieve the DX8 graphics quality in DX9?

Yes - I've tried looking it up, 0 results.

tenks :3

Graphic configs Launch settings might work too.

tl;dc version:

-dxlevel <level> - Forces a specific DirectX version when launching the game. This is useful if your graphics hardware is older, and gets significantly better performance in an earlier version of DirectX. Below are the most common modes used:

  • -dxlevel 80
  • -dxlevel 81
  • -dxlevel 90
  • -dxlevel 95
  • -dxlevel 98

IK that, I have my launch option as -dxlevel 91 and my autoexec.cfg mat_dxlevel 81 (I believe). This is to fix the game blacking out when alt-tabbing, but it screws up ubered players (for some reason).
