Questions About Voting on Suggestions

I'm really confused about if voting on a suggestions makes a difference in it being accepted or closed, here's why.

A key suggestion with 45.98% gets accepted but another key suggestion with 71.78% gets closed, now I know what most of you are thinking "here's another one of those key rage people" or whatever the people are called who rage about key prices and what not, but I'm not here to rage about the key prices i'm here to find out what's up with these suggestions getting accepted that less then 50% of the community agrees with? And what's up with suggestions that more then 70% of community agrees with getting closed? Does it only matters what the people who accept the suggestions think and not what the voters think?

I really want to know how the voting system works before I make a suggestion or vote on anymore suggestion, I checked the FAQ but I does not cover this topic. PLEASE do not post random answers like "The backpack.tf admins are corrupt" or "It's because of greed" I've herd all that before and it's just spam,I just used the key suggestions as examples not because I'm worried about key prices.

Admins decide, voters help. Key suggestions are a bad example.

voting system is there to show what the users think, and to help show mods if the community wants the price to change.

but in key suggestions people downvote instantly without looking at links provided because they simply dont want the price to change, and you only see this on key suggestions. where #savethekeys exists

Everyone is biased with promo suggestions eg you can make a suggestion lowering keys to 2 refs with no proof ad you will still get alot of upvotes. Is it the right price? No.

For most suggestions it's the proof that does the talking voting is there to see the communities reaction to things eg if there was a small change to an item (1 scrap change eg) and there is decent proof but not quite there votes can help.

Upvotes =\= accepted, if this was true every bud and unusual would be 1 scrap because thats what people want.

like others said.  voting results are a reference for mods.  highly upvoted suggestions with bad proof will be closed.

I don't mean suggestion to make buds a scrap, mods already close those because they do not represent market and sells, I mean like with the newest key suggestion that just changed the low and the high end a little bit, 1799 traders did not agree with it and it is making a new price for whole community not just for mods, how I see it as, it affects everybody so what everybody thinks should be first step in making a new price and second should be is there any proof and so on. All 1799 traders can't be wrong in this one suggestion. just my take on it.

So you specifically mean key suggestions? I thought this was about the topic in general.

About those 1799 people. Yes they are all wrong, before the new key price was accepted I found some people (and bots) buying for even 5.77 ref and sold them ~30 keys. Note: That was above the current price and exactly the price which was voted for. Any explanation of that? Why would someone downvote if buyers at 5.77 ref are already there.

Why or why not people would down vote is not my biggest concern, my concern was if voting on a suggestion would change the out come of it, and from the answers I'm getting is seems voting is really not that important.

On key suggestions it is not that important, right.

The way I see it as, how key suggestion are handled other suggestions will be handled, and as far as key suggestions what voters think should be taken into account even more and I think people should take much heavier scrutiny when dealing with key suggestions, see rule 8 as far as key suggestions are concerned http://backpack.tf/vote?showrules=1. According to the rules  "Both voters and moderators treat such suggestions with much heavier scrutiny" which is confusing me because you're a mod and you think its really not that important but the rules say mods and voters take it seriously, so if voters take such scrutiny that tells my that voting must matter to some degree, but that's not what I'm getting from everybody.

Scrunity means moderators spend many minutes on prooving the suggested price range. Voters should do that too, but they don't fill in their part it seems.

Ok now I get what you're saying, voters don't seem to be doing there best just upvoting and downvoting and not looking at proof or giving proof so the mods have to do it all, Thanks for you're answer, I was hoping a mod would talk to me about this thanks  :)
