StaticKyrbi
Ok, well, it is obvious that buds are losing value fast (due to keys gaining value), but this is creating a major schism between the prices of items that are priced in buds and of items priced in keys.Basically, (If it is priced in keys) Price is going up. (If it is priced in buds) Price is going down. Basically, I was wondering if anyone else was noticing this, and what you think we should do about it. I personally believe that everything should be priced in keys (of what they were at least a month previous), so that people don't just start to actually lose money because of this. No the value of keys has never changed, keys are the only fixed currency in the economy, always 2.5USD form the store, it's everything else which changes. Buds always go down this time of the year Halloween has people dumping buds for keys to unbox for special effects and then christmas sales, unboxing also this is the time of the year where everyone cashes out. Only difference this year is that valve decided to spam updates back to back right after halloween so instead of buds jumping back up briefly it kept going down. Anyways buds are jumping back up already like it always does, it was 9-10 keys 3 days ago now it's impossible to buy for less that 11 keys. The reason why items are priced in buds is because most unusuals are still and always will be traded for buds. If sales were keys we would price that item in keys. Correcting your "we lose money part", b/os of 1bud will still be b/o 1 bud, many players dont change their buyouts and the few that do change their buyout to keys dont get sales. Buds gain their value from unusual and high tier traders so in a sense the price of buds gauges the "strength" and current status of unusual trading (I.e. down = unusual economy is going bad, up = unusual economy going well), so you're not losing money. Everything in this economy changes and nothing is ever the same (except keys) if it goes down you're not losing money it means thats what it is currently valued at and you probably wont be able to sell for more anyways.
