Flies is one of the best. Its an acquired taste for sophisticated people. As for hearts, too girly for me. I guess nuts is the worst, but Disco sucks just as much its like a brony party going on your head or something like that.

Overclocked is pretty neat when its on the right hat. Smoking just looks so horrible theres nothing it really looks good on.

1st gen: Confetti. Not like it's a bad effect or anything, and I get the appeal, but it looks fairly underwhelming. I just bought a Massed Flies Mongolian last week and while it doesn't look that great, but's certainly a unique effect in how it works, and is more memorable than the 'Fettis.

 

2nd gen: Steaming and Smoking. They completely lack color, they sometimes blend right into the background, and they're annoying as hell. They're perhaps the only two effects that I outright despise.

 

3rd gen: Miami Nights, A.K.A. a really bad rip-off of Sunbeams. I'd like it a little more if it weren't so garish looking. Even Aces/DP are better than that crap.

The opinions that are against mine ;____;

 

Massed Flies is my most despise effect as I have an eye condition and the black "things" on the screen is practically a nuisance on my eyes

So much flies hate... o.O I actually really enjoy that effect and would love to own a flies hat someday. I agree with all the third gen ones though. Aces High and Dead Presidents feel so out of place in TF2.
