Backpack Search-Specific URLs

I've no idea about if this has been suggested in the past so apologies if it has been.

I don't know if it's even possible but I figure that there's no harm in suggesting this: I propose an introduction of a method to save a specific search of a specific item/quality/etc. of a person's backpack. For example, say you wanted to sell every strange item in your backpack. Rather than saying that, it'd be simpler to give a URL that leads to your backpack with the search feature having already been given the quality strange.

This would simply be a modification for user convenience. The obvious advantage is that then people selling multiple of some item (such as unusuals or craftable hats) would find it easier to give a link to their backpack.tf page (and, thus, potentially attract more visitors) as it's then less likely that customers could miss an item. It'd also be easier than sorting one's backpack appropriately as it'd simply remove the hassle of customers having to scroll through backpacks.

This makes sense and I approve. Haven't seen it suggested anywhere yet.

If I get what you're saying, a link to show every quality item in a user's bp via a link?

If it is, then this might be what you're trying to get at : http://puu.sh/9ZzMl.jpg , where you can find that quality section in the backpack and then see if you want anything.

Not exactly. That's what I meant with the last sentence.

As an example, use the top left search box and choose a quality. I'm suggesting a URL for the results from that. It'd be easier (to deal with the you-know-who buyers) than saying "Go to my backpack, sort by quality and scroll to the ones that you're interested in."

So, you want search filters to be added to the URL so that others can use that URL to find the already filtered items?

To be honest, if the trader that adds me and doesn't know the exact item they want, I usually won't even bother trading with them.

"Hello, I want to buy a strange item from you"

Sure, which one would you like?

"I don't know."

I meant it for forums or those Outpost trades where people don't have enough available trades so say "Here's a sample. Look through my backpack. All of my strange weapons are for sale." It's for advertising purposes. (There's nothing that you can do about the I-don't-know-why-I-added-you people. They'll always exist.)

Another advantage: Say you've got one of those "Check my stock" trades, such as with paints that you're often selling. After "Check my stock," you could paste the URLs of your backpack with the appropriate items having already been searched. Personally I've often skipped paint sellers with "Check my stock" in favour of the recently bumped, white-named ones on Outpost just to avoid a few extra seconds of opening backpacks. Here sellers could offer a one-click-stock-check.
