My personal story. My mac was running fine, until i installed and ran AVG. Now i had to restore to factory settings. Moving to Avast.

I've been running AVG for years,it didn't falsely affect my pc's performance whatsoever. Are you running on a toaster perhaps?

Every OS has viruses, there's just more windows ones due to it being used more often.

If you want near no viruses, run linux.

I'm just gonna toss out that the best antivirus is the user. Been running 4 years on my computer without an antivirus, and I've not had any troubles.

You're completely wrong on many levels. Its not just Avast, its almost all antiviruses. Its a problem with Steam  not antivirus. For more info see this :

do u have windows 8? wait u said 4 years... Cause "supposedly" if u have windows 8 it already makes ur computer secure so u don't need an Anti Virus cause it is itself

Don't know much about that, but I upgraded Win7>Win8 like 2 years ago.
