Why is flies a themed effect for sniper?

i cant seem to understand why

because they're too stupid to understand how toilets work and shit their pants

Because sniper is a bad class and it stinks

Because usually Sniper eats flies, while the other classes don't eat flies,so a Sniper hat with flies makes it themed because Sniper eats flies.

Holy shit people, at least try to answer.

Flies is higher for sniper because it's effective as an unusual.

What unusual would you rather have, bright, burning flames where everybody can see you from miles away, or hard to see flies that draw no attention to you?

edit : okay people you can stop liking this comment

Curly brace had it partly right, its themed because when one sits still for long periods of time, flies begin to settle on your head. The sniper spends minutes standing still, barely moving, and it just makes sense that flies would land on him.

Just something which carried on from the old days of tf2.

Low visabilty on the sniper is best, dont want to have a bright shiny effect that you can see half way across the map right? Back then when there were only 1gen effects  the fettis were seen as the most cancerous effect and flies became the "god tier" for sniper becuase it was a relatively rare unbox and low visability. Sorta like how the idea that TC is the best looking hat, it was the best looking, but even though there are many better hats now people still see the tc as the "god tier"

Why not just wear a gibus without an effect and be nearly invisible sneak lvl 87 ninja?

Solution: Don't play sniper.
