Is Duped Unusuals really that matters in > 3 buds unusuals?

Just want to ask community in forum for opinion in duped over 3 buds value .

 

is it hard to sell ? or some value off from the full price? is it matters?

If your unusual is ~4 buds and less dupes dont mean anything.

 

On hightier/god tier hats, for hats in the 10bud + region it would be harder to sell for full price.

 

In between that you might just lose a few buyers if it's duped but it's still perfectly sellable for full price.

If you don't mention that a <3 bud unusual is duped, most people won't even bother checking.

I bought and sold a cloud 9 safe-n-sound, and I didn't know it was duped until after selling it.

Having dealt in tons of duped hats, the only time I've ever had a problem because a hat was duped wasn't with hats worth a certain amount, but hats that people buy as a DREAM hat. A hat someone intends to keep has to be clean right? Don't want to settle for less. I've sold numerous ten bud plus hats without a problem, because they were no ones dream hat, just something to buy and sell. 

 

If its a nice hat with a nice effect, dupe matters. Otherwise, I think the amount that a dupe on a bad hat should matter is 15 plus.

As these fancy folks have said above, only high tier unusuals matter a lot in this case. But a lot of people are still making duped hats as an excuse to have a discount.

As borris said, It depends on the unusual. If we take my Harvest Baker for example, there's 4 on the market. 3 dupes and 1 clean one. The clean one hasn't been sold for over a year now and the owner only wants cash. This means that the only harvest baker you'll ever get is a dupe, in that case dupes don't matter. But if you have a duped hat and there's 3 clean ones on the market, people will try to get it cheaper.

I will never knowingly buy a duped item.  Even if I only intend to resell it.  It doesn't matter if it is a dirty hat or an unusual.  The only exception I make is for earbuds.  Nobody gives a damn about buying and selling duped buds, including me.  Buds are buds.  The only thing that matters on them is a gifted tag.
