Why some unusual are massed duped?  Is it hard to tell if it was duped, depending on the level, etc?

If you could let me know, I'd much appreciate it.

Sorry if it's in the wrong part of the fourms aswell.

Some Unusuals are massed duped because a lot of profit can be made off of it for virtually nothing. It's not particularly hard to tell if an Unusual's duped.

Because back in the early days of trading, the unusuals were A LOT more expensive than they were today. And people found ways to dupe items.

So a bunch of people decided to dupe items back and forth in order to make a lot of profit, which they did but risked their reputation.

No not really, usually it will show somebody ahead of you in the history, or you can check other peoples backpacks in the history.

In the old days of tf2 people found exploits which enables people to dupe hats, many expensive hats were obvious targets, this doesnt happen anymore tho.

How hats are duped now is from steam, essentially someone gets hijacked and steam restores their backpack with some hats with multiple copies the chances someone getting hijacked increases...etc

thank you for letting me know :), so one way to check is to see if someone is ahead of you in history and if someone is, it means someone has your hat while you have the same hat?

One more thing before I go where can I find a list from first gen effects to the new ones?

1) you can check by going on the current owner's bp from backpack.tf, click on the unusual then click "history", there will be a marking if the unusual in question is duped (sometimes it might miss it though)

A better "official" method is using tf2items, and manually checking all backpacks which indicate the possibility of it being in 2 separate backpacks. If it does then it's duped

2) The official tf2 wiki

So the first set of boxes on the official wiki are 1st gen then the halloween 2nd then the others are so forth?
