Try verifying your game integrity cache, if that does not help, reinstall the game.

 Buy a pc.

Can we just once not say that? You make all windows users look like ignorant assholes. I think mac is much better than pc.

they have pros and cons, i.e. the mac is not designed for games but for design, (i have it since 10 and i didnt had any idea at the time, now i wish otherwise)

Let's not get into this bullcrap. Sure, a PC will have marginally better performance for the money, but that's not what you get a Mac for. Macs are a great package. Soft- and hardware work together seamlessly to provide a smoother experience, everything properly works out of the box, reliability is unmatched, portability is unmatched and design is so good that everyone tries to mimic it. Displays are beautiful, features are endless and the Apple Support is there for if something does ever go wrong. A recent survey on what is the PC that most reliably runs Windows, had as winner: The MacBook Pro. Macs are a great package, not all about performance. I play TF2 on a Mac with Windows installed.

I had this problem. I verified game cache integrity and had to reinstall half the game. It works fine now

I laughed way to hard at this.

In all honesty though, as a former "buy a PC" douchebag, I freely admit I was an incompetent uninformed jackass when saying that. With that said & after owning a mac for more than a year, I believe that most who say that now are the same and either have never used a mac for more than the 5 minutes while at WorstBuy or had a Mac back in the days of Mac OS (pre-OSX). Macs have their place in the world, PCs do as well. Hal 9000 will make sure both burn in the end.

Yes.

The issue with macs is that for the hardware they have, they're overpriced. Theres no denying it; but here I am, just (well....9 months ago) having bought myself a new rMBP (after having used my old mbp for 6 years) even though they're overpriced. Sadly, most other companies make such trash laptops its not even funny....

Want good battery life? You're limited to like one Lenovo notebook, everything else will give you like an hour.

Want something that, literally, doesn't crumble in your hands? Well, sorry, you're just shit out of luck here...Lenovo laptops tend to crack extremely easily, and dell has the tendency to wrap everything in plastic bands, which also break very easily--not to mention the chrome (?) shit that companies put on the exterior to make them look nicer--which invariably come off after like a week.

So...yea, until other laptop manufacturers stop making trash, I'm sticking with Apple. Not to mention OSX is just a much better OS to use (assuming OSX had the compatibility of Windows) it would be undeniably the superior OS. Especially for me, because of the way I use computers, an OSX (apple) laptop + windows desktop is great as I do everything on my laptop with the exception of gaming, and I do nothing on my desktop with the exception of gaming...So, on a laptop I interface with the OS much more, vs. a desktop where I interface with the OS to launch said game.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've had the same problem, though it was beacuse I had a mod installed that was conflicting some .vtf files.

If you installed any mods (Probably not since OS X now hides the Library folder) try to see if deleting your mods will work.

If not then do what the other users said: Verify your game cache and re-install TF2.
