API for SCM prices

Recommended Posts

Since market prices are back, any chance you will be integrating it to the prices api and/or creating a new api for it?

I am not implying that. I just want an api so that i can use it.

You can always parse the page and turn it into json/store in a DB and repeat the action as a cron every hour or so.

I think steam have a rule against 'scanning' pages repeatedly because it 'uses up server resources' and we all know valve servers are so weak they may as well run off toasters.

Yes i was referring to the bp.tf page because you can even scan it once an hour than scanning hundreds of pages an hour.

Is there really a need for an API when the data is available from the source?

http://steamcommunity.com/market/search/render/?query=&start=0&count=100&search_descriptions=0&sort_column=quantity&sort_dir=desc&appid=440

100 max per page, takes a few pages to parse all (not 100s) so you can automate it.

TF2 has 3687 items, so 37 pages to parse.

You ninja'd me

Anyway, i did not know of that page but yes, i would still prefer using an api if that motivates you :3
