How did you become involved with backpack.tf and trading?

One day about two months ago I was playing mvm with some friends and my friend linked me to backpack.tf because another friend wanted a strange shortstop.

I looked at it for two seconds and didn't think much of it.

I then became involved with trading a short time later and posting my stuff on the classifieds to see if I could sell it. I found it interesting that I could acquire other items by just trading.

One day I got bored and wanted to see if I could make a suggestion. I saw that the uncraft dead cone was a bud at the time and it didn't make sense that an uncraft was more than a craft.

I then recuperated and tried again after not being able to sell the festive gl for a bit.

This one went a little better but was still closed due to sloppy proof.

At this time I began trading on op as well. Before I thought outpost was a bad place. (inb4 sarcastic comments about how outpost is a bad place.)

I decided to rework the numbers in my head after gaining a bit more knowledge about proof.

I was thrilled about this first accepted suggestion and entered the world of pricers.

I got into trading when I saw that I was being killed with weapons I didn't have.  It bothered me and I decided I'd trade for all the weapons I wanted.  Then that turned into all the weapons.  When I got every unique weapon at the time (except Big Kill)(pre-wanga prick days), I kept the ones I used, traded the rest for keys and opened ~35 crates.  Unboxed an unusual, sold it and told myself I was done with trading.

Now here I am collecting noise makers I won't use and crates I won't open.

I don't have an exciting story for how I got involved with bp.tf.  I used it as a resource, eventually decided to contribute when I saw a price was outdated, an later stumbled into the forums.  I certainly never anticipated spending so much time here.  My first suggestion.

Trading - as soon as trading started being a thing, I wanted my classes to look nice

BP.TF - iirc I tried buying something for a price and it took way longer than I thought it would so I updated the price here.

My first suggestions were a train wreck, and I ended up closing two of them and an admin closed one of them. My third one passed pretty well. Maybe I'll do more... maybe.

I got into trading because I wanted to create the ultimate Doctor Who set. Eventually succeeded too: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8371565

However, I got bored of the set. So I sold it. Now I trade mainly for moar games. I'm thinking of cashing out soon.

As for how I got into backpack.tf, a friend told me about it after I mentioned that I get most of my prices from the spreadsheet. I decided to use this site as a main pricing guide instead. Eventually, I started making suggestions.

I traded so i can get hats. And get a backpack like my friends. And i felt like i would be good at trading.

And Bp.tf i used it for to look at bp values of rich players. But then one day i noticed i can sign in and i did and then i noticed there was a pricelist.

Then i found out you can vote. I remember i voted randomly not knowing what it meant. The i found out you can suggest a price. Then i tried it out It got closed. Then i did it again for a gunslinger and it was closed. And then i was like this is lame.

Then one day i suggested a price and it passed and found out there are belt colors and i wanted green belt. So i kept suggesting till i got it.

Trading:

Friend gave me free crate 40

I wanted an unusual, traded crate and ref and hats for it.

Realized I wanted more

Backpack.tf:

Had prices of unusuals, chose the cheapest type from it, realized that normal stuff was more accurate.

Made first suggestion with an item that was way off with easy proof.

Yippee

Trading:

Just started playing TF2, wanted hats. Beat all my IRL friends' BPs in about 2 weeks of trading. Quit serious trading within a year of starting.

BP.tf

First time I ever came here was to check how much my bp was worth based on tf2wh credits, checked back after a few months to find something pretty awesome.

I started trading when trading was added to the game with the Mannconomy Update. I first started using backpack.tf around May 2012. I'm not sure where I first found the site though. It was probably a link in a Steam Forum post.
