Key Prices - backpack.tf Influenced?

Um..there is a weekly cap on metal.  It's the limited amount of drops you can find per week.  But with a userbase so large it's impossible to lower that drop rate while still maintaining their main point, keeping the game fun.  If the metal crafting were dropped from 3 ref to 2.66 [average cost of hat rebuilding] then I'd assume more people would use ref instead of hats, and may also cause a constant flow of metal usage : metal production.

Doesn't matter exactly where you sell them, you're still helping raise key prices anytime you sell a key at all unless you're 100% sure that user is using it to unbox.  Also ignored every other thing I had corrected you on :P

No i mean actual metal production cap, not via drops.....

The cap you speak of is't really capped as you get ton's metal doing mvm.

That makes literally no sense then.  Even if they implemented a crafting cap, that'd only piss people off because then they'd have to wait a week to craft the weapons into a more compact form.  They still have the 1 refined, just not in a single item.

And you literally make no metal effeciently while playing MvM.  You spend 3+ ref on a ticket and get 1 weapon back.  Anything else is simply an item that has a metal value, but does not add to the current metal production.

Valve should just add a survival version of MVM, with an unlimited number of waves and your winnings get better depending on what wave you lose on.

Only to either shed the blame somewhere else, or take it on the chin......if backpack,tf refused any key suggestions for say, maybe a month or two, something would definitely be shown to everyone clear as day.

If prices kept rising without the input of backpack.tf, then it can truly be said that there is no pressure from this community to jack up the prices.

However, if prices remained flat, then that would also show that indeed, this site DOES put influence on what keys are doing, and not reporting the current trends.

Is it really that hard to lock down the pricing for a month or so just to have 110% proof positive and put an end to all the speculation about price manipultion?

1) Prices were locked down for 2+ weeks yet they still rose.

2) Nothing will the shut those morons up. As all these people fall into one of two categories: those who are just fucking mentally deficient, or those who are sad valve isn't giving them free money anymore and are upset by it.

I don't see why its a problem anymore creating new key discussions. People have the right to create new key/currency threads. People avoids that pinned thread now due to that being too old for some/many people. Hardly people discuss it over there anymore.

Valve should just put a weekly cap on metal production, and perhaps extra tier of metal like AwesomeMcCoolName say'd.

The chem sets etc do not get rid of enough metal because supply is extremely much.

Agreed. They should really do something about this.

Locking for flame war. Not only is this thread redundant with the other key topic, its participants and progenitor are clearly not interested in a civil discussion
