    did all bots got banned?

we are joking about this but i wanted to sell robo parts yesterday and there were pretty much no real buy orders the only active / online bot was buying them for 0.44 so...yeah,no i hope things will go back to "normal" soon edit :

Do the oauth api endpoints even work?

this is so stupid, they don't explain it on their main page, you have to face this problem first, then you have too google it and pray that you will get on this thread.

    Beware of new fishing/scam method.

Unfortunatelly this has been a thing for a long time, there's always a lot of rudeness towards these situations From bullying people who get scammed, to reporting people for the smallest mistakes (when it's you doing it) and so on threads like these are still helpful to me though, thank you op for posting.
  9. I was wondering the same, thanks for the clarification!

What happened to the prices of Quicksell buyers?

Honestly Steam just made a mistake and they're to unban all the bots that were affected. Eventually everything go back to normal

Asks for opinions. People give their opinions, surprisingly all fairly simular opinions. Reject all their opinions and tell them they are wrong.
  13. With an inventory worth ~3,800 keys or so I think it is safe to say OP is not a newbie. It honestly just sounds like they are mad that they got lowballed. You should have been around for the tf2tp/tf2outpost days... Creating this thread is an over exaggeration. Calling the "offense" mentioned in the OP phishing/scamming is really reaching.

Please don't rely on buy orders. It will affect and slow down your progress. From personal experience.

Ngl we do have a topic discussion of unbalanced trades that's ongoing right now by Teeny herself, Esteban. I believe putting forward the discussion and asking about this would help. If there's anything that you're still thinking about asking for clarifications on may help for the foreseeable future.

This is just people telling the truth. If you're trying to make profit (or even just not lose money) trading, you should have at least a vague idea of how much your item is worth.
  20. Either. We can look at the last 6 months if that's provided, we can look at a longer period if that's provided. If all trades provided are over a year old, we'd probably ask for some more recent evidence also. We can note this in the guide. We're planning to go over how to confirm sales in the guide. I don't expect people to be adding sellers, that's potentially a bit intrusive and not really helpful. There's no set number or amount on the rule, we're simply looking for patterns. I see your point that 10 trades in a week could be 90% of trades done by a small trader but less than 10% of trades done by a larger, high volume trader. The reports are public and reported users are free to add their perspective and context to each one, which we do consider when assessing them. We can note that in the guide if it'd be helpful. I mean we're not looking at what buy orders people have up, no. The likelihood of a large enough proportion of someone's trades being super unbalanced dumps to low buy orders for it to appear like a pattern of unbalanced trades seems pretty low to me. One trade isn't gonna get you caught by the rule, neither is the odd one here or there, only a fairly substantial pattern. Either way, this isn't really related to reporting. No, if you read the rule, you can't report people for "sharking" just for having low buy orders. I've linked the rule in the first post. And again, this thread is not for a discussion of the rules, it is for users to let me know what would be helpful in a guide for reporting. They are not the same in our rules, and the difference is clearly stated already in the post linked in the OP. The guide will also cover the difference between deceptive trades ("sharking") vs unbalanced trades.

The fact that so many people are saying 'hurr ur dumb if you fall for that' is kind of telling of the sort of community we have here. Shouldn't we be 'sticking up for noobs'? or is it just fair game to screw people over who don't know any better? I mean yeah in this situation it's not really that egregious given the relative values, but referring to buy offers that are artificially low in your offer to try mislead someone as to value is super scummy. I swear to God every time I visit these forums I lose a bit of faith in humanity.

It must be really life-changing to be sharking kids' money off virtual items with your little experience of 10 years. The irony of immoral people asking for morals from people with power over them is funny. Reverse the roles, and we see your true nature, lying and sharking; you've got nothing to lose being banned on backpack already.

Nobody mentioned quicksell. That is a subjective and hypothetical term. Liquid prices are realistic prices; it's just that you like to mark things up astronomically, hoping someone will pay you too much for something so you can benefit the most. Your values are for waiting for years and trap listings in case an unknowledgeable buyer pays way too much. That's why you barely get sales on these items and have them sitting useless for years. Your hypothetical values come from greed. Say something is 1000 keys, and you list it for 9000 keys. If someone thinks that 9000 is the real value and that you offer a discount of that, say 50%, which is huge, then that would be a 4500 key value which would still be 4.5x more than its real value. If what you're saying is true, go buy the Death at Dusk or Morning Glory all classes miscs with your mentioned values; you won't. The same goes with the other spellbound all classes and knifestorm mining lights. There are lots of your types of items on the market, but you don't stand on business with your statements because you're full of gangee water lies.

Y'know never mentioned this until now because I thought he'd banned or something eventually but at some point the guy did try to pull the strange festivIZED scattergun scam on me a while ago. Wasn't even on a hat I was selling. So yeah the guy is beyond shady.
