I can say I learned a few things. On the detective side, one being that someone is selling their script templates. Not much, but still something.

now we know that there is a lot of people involved on that, and that people buy those templates.

 

EDIT: out of curiosity, a simple google search gives you the templates, tutorials and everything else you need

A decent chunk of phishers comes out of Russia, I always asumed if was b/c of the corruption and fairly widespread need for money, along with the gov.+society not generally discouraging things like phishing, so this hardly surprises me tbh

that said, you should've told him you are taking stuff people have worked for, and that him needing money isnt a good reason for theft, as no reason for theft is a good one

hmm, this is very interesting. Keep in mind some bots do have automated replies. This one, is clearly a human. After reading this i kinda wanna try talking to a phisher. Maybe we can find a reason for all the recent phishing link spamming.

I really hope no one is feeling sorry for this guy. Stealing is still stealing no matter how you look at it. What if he steals from someone at a even worst financial state than himself? All scammers/phishers should be treated the same.

I have ZERO sympathy for any phisher no matter what reason they give for their actions. He can get off his fucking ass and make more money a legal way. Russia might not be as opportunistic as the West but is not a third world country. To me this is no different than the thousands of American scum who sit on their ass and abuse unemployment/food stamp systems. I guarantee you there are honest Russian students in his same financial situation who do the right thing to get through it.

Nice post you made, I'm guessing phishers don't even make that much profit as people with high value BP's are a lot smarter/experienced than new ppl with low value BP's. Phishing will never stop but it's pretty easy not to get phished.

You click the link, it prompts you to login or whatever, and it saves all of that information from every user that actually logs into it in a nice little file for the owner of the site to read and do with as he pleases.

Nothing, if you are smart enough. Best way to try if the site is legitimate is to click "Log in" without entering credentials at all, it will still ask for your SteamGuard code if it is a phishing site

My favourite part is how his feelings are hurt when people tell him to f*** off and die and how they just don't have to click the link that's designed to steal potentially thousands of dollars worth of items from the very people he'd wish would be a little nicer to him.  Hmm...great logic mister phisher.
