Hi there,

I am curious and also was wandering what software was used to create backpack.tf? Is it Adobe Dreamweaver, SeaMonkey?

I am trying to start an ecommerce website similar to backpack.tf and i am looking for the best software to use.

Thanks

I don't think that you need a lot of software for creating such a site. You will need to code it, however.

Backpack.tf does use Elastic.co for keeping nearly all of their information. The rest of their infrastructure can be seen here.

Right, I am just trying to figure out the software that was used to make this website.

I know a website has to start from a Software. But thanks for those links.

They also use mongodb https://www.mongodb.com/

You don't actually need that much to run a website, for all we know they could have completely coded their own stack. You can pretty much code a website from scratch with this, obviously you have to choose a language. All websites are really just databases that share and receive information, the database is the more important part.

The software you're listing are just the 'extended' texteditors to write software. This is not the software you put on your server.

Just google 'free e-commerce software' and you'll get many results. An e-commerce site can be very tricky to build however if you've never worked with such things. Especially the handling of payments and such is very security intensive and should be taken very seriously.

You could also use a site like https://www.squarespace.com/ where you also can have a shop to sell stuff but don't have to manage all the backend. Probably not the right way if you're looking for something like bp.tf.

Just my 2 cents.
