Knifestorm is really neat, you can see little blood splatters coming out of you. Also, am I the only one who thinks misty skull is boring and the balance is kinda off?

Knifestorm definitely for 2011-2012. Stormy 13th comes very close though!

 

Poisoned Shadows for 2013. Closest we have to purple scorching/burning and effect looks amazing. Hellfire and Arcana would be my second picks here

 

I'm not a fan of any of the 2014 effect but if i have to choose I'm going with Bonzo. It aint pretty but it's quite possibly the most noticeable unusual effect in the game and at least valve were creative with that one. Amaranthine would be second i guess

Cloudy moon - Hellfire - Ooze

secret/moon are kinda close for me; same goes for hellfire and spellbound, but I prefer hellfire by a little bit (hence my signature hat is one ;D)
I like both ooze and amaranthine, but prefer ooze as it matches best with the voodoo-souls:

As for bonzo, its probably my least favourite effect. I see why others like it since its somewhat unique, but I think its gross :P

Tesla Coil > Starstorm Slumber > Starstorm Insomnia > Neutron Star seems to be the most agreed upon, though personally I feel Tesla looks a little too flat.

 

For taunts, I'd say the two Pentagrams>Spectral Swirl>Inferno. That being said, I think the rankings here will be God Tier, High Tier, and Low Tier. There were no "Mid Tiers" like Skill Gotten Gains, only amazing, pretty sweet, and eh.
