You should make it clear that most traders with these types of items for these prices mentioned above are for items. Cash would be way less. 4,000 keys for knifestorm mining light, are you smoking crack? Also, All these item prices are through the roof and are for meant to wait for years for sale. Realistically if you wanted to get cash/key prices for today then cut all these atrocious estimates in half.

    Beware of new fishing/scam method.

This person didn't trick you into accepting, nor did they make you click a link. Thus, this was not a scam, phish, or shark. If you are not even willing to check the history of your hat's buyorders, and then decide to base its value on buyorders, then it is inevitable that you will accept an unfair trade of your own fault.

Also a lot of these estimates have no sales to back them up. Just based on the whole market’s inflated prices. Sell listings are not real values. Especially with everyone doubling their prices and expecting items.

Pricing Event Easter 2024 Info & Teams

Hello! Thanks for signing up! In this thread you will find all the information you need regarding the pricing event and the team you are in. Please read the thread. The event will start Thursday the 28th of March at 19:00 UTC and will end Monday the 1st of April at 20:00 UTC. This means that any suggestions submitted after this date are invalid. Timeline - Day 1: Scout, Soldier and Pyro hats + class specific taunts that are 6+ months outdated OR unpriced! - Day 2: Demoman, Heavy and Engineer hats + class specific taunts that are 6+ months outdated OR unpriced! - Day 3: Medic, Sniper and Spy hats + class specific taunts that are 6+ months outdated OR unpriced! - Day 4: All-class and Multi-class hats + taunts that are 6+ months outdated OR unpriced! When the event starts, the assignments above will be specified to certain effects. At the beginning of each event day, your team will receive a file/pastebin with ALL backpack.tf stat page links that match your team's requirements. This will make it a lot more convenient to find items that your team is eligible to update. Note: each day unlocks a new set of items you can update. However, you can still update the items from the previous days. Point Scoring - 1 point for every accepted suggestion - 1 point for every mini suggestion accepted* - 0.5 points for every single sale marketplace.tf suggestion** - 0 points for B/O drops. - -5 points for every suggestion closed by a moderator. *=A mini suggestion is valid as long as your mini suggestion is necessary to update your main item. This also includes a mini for a mini. **=This qualifies as a suggestion where the only sale is a marketplace.tf sale (and the deposit to the marketplace bot). This criterion is implemented to discourage submissions primarily reliant on single marketplace.tf sales, while skipping other items in the file that have potential sales but require more effort, due to the fact that these kind of suggestions typically take a minute of work. Rules !!READ!! Each team is required to appoint one designated suggester. This person will be responsible for submitting the work completed by team on the website. Once the team has decided on who should be the designated suggester, please notify me in your team channel in the discord or through a private message. This is necessary to ensure clarity for the moderation team. As without a designated suggester, all participants might submit their own suggestions, leading to confusion and difficulty in assessment for the mod choice awards. New: We are now introducing a back-up designated suggester. This person will be appointed by the team as well. The back-up designated suggester is permitted to submit suggestions on behalf of the team in the final hour of the event and only if the main designated suggester is offline or non-responsive. Tip: Something to consider when deciding on a designated suggester: a) rather active throughout the event to process the workload; b) has a relatively high voting power and; c) some experience could be useful as well, as the designated suggester is ultimately responsible for the work submitted on the event and should/could perform a quality check. All suggestions must be clearly identifiable as event-related. The first line of each suggestion should include your team number to ensure clarity. Furthermore, adherence to indicating whether a suggestion is a mini for another suggestion, along with specifying the hat for which the mini is intended, is mandatory. Example: Team 1 - Suggestion 23 Example: Team 1 - Suggestion 24: Mini for Burning Flames TC Is it strictly prohibited to solicit or utilize suggestions from individuals outside of your team. Engaging in such behavior for gaining an unfair advantage will result in disqualification and forfeiture of any associated prizes, donation credit and backpack.tf premium. We uphold a fair play policy with zero tolerance for cheating. You are allowed to use scripts on backpack.tf - in fact, a list will be provided to all participants to make suggesting a little bit easier. Teams are allowed to submit suggestions for effects that are not assigned to them, but only if they are necessary for a mini suggestion. Event participants should also not make suggestions under their own name for assignments/effects that belong to other teams in an attempt to undermine them. And most importantly, work together as a team. There are teams, not individuals. Whether you are new to suggesting and/or participating in events or whether you're experienced, you should strive to collaborate with your team. If you are completely new, that is fine. Simply do your best, ask questions and try to contribute. If you are a quadruple black belt, take the lead. Teach the newbies and set a good example. It is imperative to include all team members in the process. Additionally, please note that the staff team recognizes exceptional team work even if you don't get first place on the scoreboard. For this, we even have a specific award in place, as shown in the next paragraph. Prizes First place -> $150 marketplace.tf credit to be shared between the members of your team. Second place -> $100 marketplace.tf credit to be shared between the members of your team. Mod Choice: Teamwork -> $100 marketplace.tf credit to be shared between the members of your team. Mod Choice: Quality -> $100 marketplace.tf credit to be shared between the members of your team. Best teamleader -> $25 marketplace.tf credit. Best newcomer -> $25 marketplace.tf credit. All prizes also come with a special permanent badge on your backpack.tf profile! In addition to this, you will receive donation credit* on the site for each point your time scores. This will increase the amount of classified slots you have and level up your donation badge. You will also be given a free month of backpack.tf premium! For convenience sake, this will be applied to your profile before the event starts. Big thanks to the marketplace.tf team for putting up the prizes!! *= amount T.B.A. More info on prizes: Mod Choice: Teamwork --- this award you can win by being the team with the best teamwork. Teaching inexperienced people, making suggestions together and involving everyone are aspects we’ll be watching for this award. Mod Choice: Quality --- this award will be given to the team that submits the suggestions with the highest quality. We define high quality suggestions as suggestions with a proper lay out (well organized, 2 compare links for every sale, a conclusion/summary, final range etc), well worked out mini’s suggestions and the main suggestion itself in general are all things we are taking into consideration. It also helps if your team doesn't have any suggestions closed by a moderator. Best teamleader --- this is awarded to the individual whom mods feel was the most active, the most helpful in their team, teached the newcomers best and showed best leadership. Best newcomer --- this is awarded to an active member of the team with almost no prior experience in suggesting and yet picks up on the basics quickly and is able to make decent suggestions for the team. Teams Last but not least, the teams. People from all over the world signed up for this event. We have tried to keep the teams as balanced as possible with also trying to take the timezone and availability of participants into account. The teams list is as follows: Team 1 datweirdbirb vege8711 russell0316 rainy0113 twistedmedia .nobody_nose wersady the.fungus Team 2 Icycrevasse plantfoodclock imgonnahangmyself namishgali kirbify cykablyat7669 .nicktree bumbaliabombaclot Team 3 aj___ macioeus .hollowka heidecker beponeko metalcore flubs_ esteban7890 Team 4 mtcrimson L3ORIC#1356 Mucy notsemper zelias7575 .moltion pizzathepizza .salamence. What happened to the prices of Quicksell buyers?

Yeah this happens sometimes. All you have to do is just wait it out. The bots are going to be unbanned and it should eventually revert to the current state. I do want to say buy orders don't define your item.

Using CURRENT market (not when the market was high years ago). Also using cash/pure value which can be used to sell in a few days. (People usually list higher for items, to wait for years, and just in case some idiot actually pays a super high price) These things should be acknowledged as sale listings do not reflect actual values, especially in a monopoly market where most traders mark up prices as a group to make the high-end values seem higher to an unknowledgeable buyer (trap listings). You can see why these items did not sell for years upon years because the price was too high; those same high prices are not liquid values. Below are my LIQUID values. 1.KE Demonflame 3000 keys: It can't be equal to Darkblaze, which sold for around 4k around a year ago. There are few sales for super god tier KE if any; DB is on a whole other level with Spellbound and Bonzo. This hat has either been going down or the Crones is just skyrocketing because KE use to be the best in og 1st gen days. Crones is the best all-class hat in the game 10x, IMO, in terms of looks. 2. Cotton Head Knifestorm 1500 keys: There have not been many pure/cash sales or any at all for knife all class recently, but for sure, less than spellbound and no higher than low-tier miscs. 3. TOUGH STUFF MUFFS (SPELLBOUND) 2000 keys: There are not many spellbound all-class sales to go off of. The highest is gibus at 2k off item sale, which is low tier; muffs is mid. Pencil was recently priced around 3k, and that's the best engie misc. 4. COTTON HEAD (SPELLBOUND) 2000 keys. There are not many spellbound all-class sales to go off of. The highest is gibus at 2k off item sale. Gibus is low tier, while cotton is mid. Pencil was recently priced around 3k, and that's the best engie misc. 5. VIRTUAL VIEWFINDER (DEATH@DUSK): 2000 keys: Antlers at 4k are 1 of 2, and antlers stack with themselves and any misc. View does not stack with itself or noh, phantom, beak, and bonk, which defeats the purpose of making triple combos and being a misc. Antlers usually way more than View for the same effect. This is also 1 of 6 inflated. Also super ugly. 6. Bonzo pencil pusher 4500 Keys: recently priced. Actual sale to back it up. 7. Bonzo Blast defense 1500 keys: This is a quick-switch misc, not a real misc, so it doesn't get a real misc price. It could be switched back to its original state as a hat at any time. It is a super ugly hat that covers the whole face, which is even uglier for a misc. 8. Mining light knifestorm 2000 keys: Worst engineer misc, 1 of 6 inflated + dupes. Also, has Pencil and Brainiac further to inflate knife for an engineer.

Since it's an open forum, I think I have every right to also tell my opinion about my items. I would make it detailed so people can agree or disagree. but before anyone says that these listed mannco prices are stupid. please know the prices of keys were 1.65-1.75 and that these were my discounted price which is why I have DISCOUNTS in my steam name since then. Just like everyone here. I certainly NEVER intended to quicksell any of those items because they are not typical first gens you see in the market all the time. Yet I would like to clarify this thing is affecting me more than it should and I am working hard to resolve this situation with Mannco. Listed prices on Mannco before hack (approx) | VS | What they are worth realistically ========================================================= 1. Unusual Killer Exclusive [Demonflame] (RARE)- 16,000 USD (because Darkblaze was listed for 22,000) | 6000 keys (which is still 2000 keys less than Darkblaze KE ) 2. Unusual Cotton Head [Knifestorm] (1/1) - 8000 USD | 3500 keys (as no other decent available (3 years ago Knifestorm Well Rounded Rifleman got sold for gpan straight) 3. Unusual Tough Stuff Muffs [Spellbound] - 9000 USD | 4400 keys ( as no other good looking all class is available unless you wanna pay a lot more and only other seller for this at 5000 keys ) 4. Unusual Cotton Head [Spellbound] (RARE) - 9000 USD | 4400 keys (It is exclusive like the other cotton that never hit the market in a very long time so I do not consider it any less than Unusual Tough Stuff Muffs which is why I had it listed for the same exactly) 5. Unusual Virtual Viewfinder (Death at Dusk) - 9800 USD | 4000 keys (others available at 4750 keys) 6. Unusual Pencil Pusher (Bonzo-The-All-Gnawing) - 9000 USD | 4500 keys ( do not require anything, current date bp.tf pricing and was purchased by me 1/1 other locked with collector made untradeable ) 7. Unusual Blast Defense (Bonzo-The-All-Gnawing) - 8900 USD | 4200 keys (no other Bonzo miscs for any class on sale for any less than 2 gpans prove me wrong, even the Bonzo pencil I got was for cheap if you compare with hairpiece which got sold for 5000 keys like 6 months before my purchase but since its quick switch I'd value it slightly less than my pencil purchase, ONLY one to ever move others locked with collectors, 8. Unusual Mining Light [Knifestorm] 8000 USD | 3500 keys (it was team spirit spelled and I feel like it could be easily 3500 as there is non spelled available for 4000)

    Beware of new fishing/scam method.

As my -rep was deleted off of this guys profile by OverduePixels, I come here to raise awareness. Beware of people trying to offer "X amount of keys over current buy order" as all the bots has been banned and therefore their buy orders are now gone. This happened to me as some guy offered me (twice as he had most likely managed to get an item off of someone else for cheap with the same keys) 30 keys for my disco beat down Otoloaryngologist's Mirror, which he claimed was 8 keys over current buy order (which in all fairness it was), however, literally 2 days prior the same item (non-spelled) was at 41.x keys and had been above 40 keys for months. Sadly we cant fact check this through gladiator anymore but you would have to trust me on this one. I am afraid that this will push newer traders/users away from trading and even playing the game. I am also aware that some bots are starting to come back, so this may be less relevant now. I don't owe anyone anything regarding censoring names/profiles. Don't witch hunt the guy, if anything if you're angry of me for something go for me instead? lmao He deleted my comment and blocked me to hide the fact that hes dodgy. I've got no clue why the pictures are so massive, sorry for ruining scroll wheels.

With an inventory worth ~3,800 keys or so I think it is safe to say OP is not a newbie. It honestly just sounds like they are mad that they got lowballed. You should have been around for the tf2tp/tf2outpost days... Creating this thread is an over exaggeration. Calling the "offense" mentioned in the OP phishing/scamming is really reaching.

Unbalanced trades reports - feedback - READ OP BEFORE POSTING

Either. We can look at the last 6 months if that's provided, we can look at a longer period if that's provided. If all trades provided are over a year old, we'd probably ask for some more recent evidence also. We can note this in the guide. We're planning to go over how to confirm sales in the guide. I don't expect people to be adding sellers, that's potentially a bit intrusive and not really helpful. There's no set number or amount on the rule, we're simply looking for patterns. I see your point that 10 trades in a week could be 90% of trades done by a small trader but less than 10% of trades done by a larger, high volume trader. The reports are public and reported users are free to add their perspective and context to each one, which we do consider when assessing them. We can note that in the guide if it'd be helpful. I mean we're not looking at what buy orders people have up, no. The likelihood of a large enough proportion of someone's trades being super unbalanced dumps to low buy orders for it to appear like a pattern of unbalanced trades seems pretty low to me. One trade isn't gonna get you caught by the rule, neither is the odd one here or there, only a fairly substantial pattern. Either way, this isn't really related to reporting. No, if you read the rule, you can't report people for "sharking" just for having low buy orders. I've linked the rule in the first post. And again, this thread is not for a discussion of the rules, it is for users to let me know what would be helpful in a guide for reporting. They are not the same in our rules, and the difference is clearly stated already in the post linked in the OP. The guide will also cover the difference between deceptive trades ("sharking") vs unbalanced trades.

A duped burning team captain is as nice as a clean burning team captain in terms of looks. On the other hand, a whirly warrior is not as nice as an exquisite rack or stash. Matter a fact my demonflame whirly warrior dropped over 50% in value ever since valve made them a normal hat then switched it back. I had to even sell it for 2000+ keys less than what it was before, no sales since then on it.

    MK Price Check Appraisal Request

Well... well... well... Here we go. I personally do not believe you can pin point a single price here. Some of those hats literally do not exist. Sure you can make ASSUMPTIONS but what the hack is this. You want PROOF AND EVIDENCE which can not be provided here in most cases. And what should be logical... I am not gonna talk about this. People pay less for items being duped that only can be seen on a third party website and it literally has no effect ingame. 1. Demonflame Killer Exclusive - Somewhere at 4k? I mean Darkblaze sold for this a year ago. 2. Knifestorm Cotton Head - 2k - 2.5k I would say. Those things used to be THE THING. Recently few have sold for 1k-1.5k keys (other hats). So assuming that a multi class would go for higher would only be realistic. 3. Muffler - around 3k - 4k - I have seen some have sold double the price the past 2 years. (1.5x to 2x) 4. COTTON HEAD Spell - This one is giving me an headache. Would shoot somewhere at 3k. 5. VIRTUAL VIEWFINDER D@D - ~3k - 3.25k, The effect is garabge and sells like dog. 6. Bonzo The All-Gnawing Pencil Pusher - 4.5k sale few months ago. 7. Bonzo The All-Gnawing Blast Defense - ~1.5k - 2k Blast defense since the patch of the misc glitch declined hardcore in price. It's ugly. Class specific. Disgusting. But I would assume opinions on here go very hard in different directions. 8. Knifestorm Mining Light 2.5k - 3k - 1 Unsold for almost a year at 4k I as well want to add that those prices IMO should be reasonable and should get sold within a few weeks - months. Those are no prices that will end up with the hat being listed for over a year. If you aim for quicksale add a 25%-50% discount on any of those and here we go. And GL with mannco.

Steam Inventory Helper May Be Compromised??

Why is it still possible to instantly sell items for pennies without a confirmation. I know its for those selling cases by the backpack pages but why isnt it limited to just cases? Even after tons of people losing up to hundreds of dollars in just half an hour why hasn't steam done something to prevent it. It's been going on for years. Add that additional confirmation requirement to anything that isnt a crate or case and the whole scam falls apart. Yet it continues to happen

What do y'all think of the trading's future now that bots are exterminated?

i hope people start doing trading the old fashioned way, since bots are gatekeeping everything and are keeping actually good human traders in a chokehold. the rich get richer as usual.

the bots will be back and are coming back I do think bot bans will be happening more often and (hopefully soon) will go away I do think for a good period of time we are gonna have a form of "bot crisis" where bots will be getting banned in waves which we then resolve (bots getting unbanned) and the cycle repeats until the wave gets smaller and smaller until bots getting banned every now and then and is not a big deal

What do y'all think of the trading's future now that bots are exterminated?

Do you think so? From what I heard and saw during the last few days, bots were not supposed to be banned, infact, some of them are working already and others have been unbanned (even MarketplaceTF staff directly said that the site is about to open and work properly again). Unless Valve modifies their policy related to auto-trading (probably will never happen), bots won't disappear from the trading scene anytime soon.

    MK Price Check Appraisal Request

No way mannco is using backpack forums as a reference to price your scammed stuff. Honestly not sure if forums is the perfect place for this, you will get a lot of spam/troll answers by default.

    Possible Scam Site?

Every time someone ask me if it's clean/glitched/etc.. it's always a scam. So when someone ask me, I just say "nope, it's not clean" or "Yes it's glitched", "That's why I put that price on it". You can then see them trying to construct bullshit on the go for you to go on the website. Second trick, I'm always logged in on steam on my browser. If a link ask for my password, this is also a scam (votesite, historic, random website sometime)

Open discussion on rules for trading with scammers (Part 3)

The point is bad actors within the community should not get their cake and eat it too. Currently, they are allowed to buy scammed goods through a guise, then benefit from "cleaning" them alongside listing them for sale within bp.tf a trading site that gets a majority of traffic from traders. This practice is tiring to see happen again and again. A solution should be found to find some way to punish them for circumventing the rules in the way they have been. Let us remind ourselves why these rules exist, they exist to increase the difficulty of selling off scammed items. While yes, it won't directly stop them, it reduces their opportunity to profit if the high-tier traders that actively purchase from them scott-free have to think twice if it's worth the risk of being banned. Having the rules this loss almost actively encourages scamming, as these scammers know often they can get nearly full from their bounties, and no parties are affected in the long run. So there is a point to all this.
