There was a Fire Emblem game for the Satellaview add-on for the Super Famicom. It was called Akaenia Saga, and it chronicled the events before the first game, without Marth
In FE 2, Thieves used axes, not swords like in all the other games.
There have been 2 "Fire Emblem" Games on non-nintendo systems. Tearring saga, and Brenwick saga. They were on the PS1 and PS2 respectively, and were only released in Japan. They have no similar stories w/ the Fire Emblem games, and their only connection is the gameplay, and the same person who made FE made it.
In Fire Emblem Awakening, some of the (non-required) chapter maps are maps from older Fire Emblem games.

Roy did not debut in Fire Emblem 6. He debuted in Super Smash Brothers Melee. Melee came out a couple of months before Binding Blade. He was put in there as a hype builder for FE 6. Also, speaking of Melee, Nintendo was originally planning not to put in Marth and Roy into Melee for American releases, but they were so popular, they decided to keep them in.
Finally, Marth has has the same voice actor as his incarnation in the Fire Emblem anime.
