Your opinion on religion

  1. 1. Any religion

    • Who cares, as long as it doesn't bother me or my family/friends then I don't care. Live and let live.
    • Bullcrap, the fact that so many people base their lives on books is astounding.
    • It does more harm than good (wars, discrimination etc)
    • It does more good than harm (Confronting, accepting etc)

Serious discussion here...

I personally don't care, as long as it's not bothering me or anyone close to me then go ahead and do what you want. I haven't had any problems with any religion in my life. It's really not as bad as some atheists make it out to be.

What's your opinion on religion as a whole?

As a Christian, I believe more in the morals than the actual God. I think of God as the rules and morals of Christianity, not a person. It creates a lot of war and personally I stay away from most other religions than my own.

Interesting take. Do you think there's any way you could be a moral being without some other form of guidance? For example, if you grew up in a world where the idea, or word of God was never mentioned, would you consider yourself to be a moral human being?

Interestingly, Islam is historically a more peaceful religion than Christianity as whole.

Technically speaking Islamic and Christianity (and also jews) believe in the same god

Allah = God

Except the major difference is that Islamic dont believe that Jesus was the son of god rather that he was another one of their many prophets.

They're all the same religion really. God is god, Jesus is God, Jesus is prophet of Islam, Jesus is a Jew, Jesus is God, Jesus kills himself, for himself, for me, and Allah is god. It's confusing stuff!

Dun wanna be the asshole. But God's selfish. "You must worship me and only me" or something like that.

People have rights, that's why I went atheist.

Try being forced to study religion for like 6 years... I was catholic schooled (and in Highschool they teach you about other relgions) because the public schools in Australia is generally crap xD

I'd say they're about the same. The difference is that one used state-sponsored Crusades, and the other mainly relied on tribal conquerors (e.g Timur, Seljuk)

Totally agree. I used to be a christian (Adventist. Worst kind I think) but all the bullshit that you had to do in order to win his favors made angry and drove me away from everything. I did not want any religion. Long story short, a few weeks past and some how Satan found me and I became a spiritual Satanist. This year I'm reading and learning a lot. I want to become a priest one day and start and small group warship session to give honor and praise to Lucifer - The only God who listens to you and really answers your prayers and gives you power as you need it. In closing, I did not say all this to offend anyone who maybe a christen or other but to show you that Satanism is not bad like what society makes you believe. And if you feel down or lost and want to give up on your religion, you can turn to him for help. Trust me he will listen you.

Depends. According to the Bible, you are supposed to treat your fellow humans with love and respect, something Christianity has failed to do. Personally I can identify with such religions as Buddhism, which practice love and peace and actually follow through on it.

your title makes no sense whatsoever, please edit/fix it. I am a Christian, but I couldn't be bothered what you are as long as you don't actively try to convert me to any religion or atheïsm. I am very annoyed by people who actively convert others because I think religion is a personal matter people should decide on for themselves. This includes other protestants trying to convert non-protestants. Just leave people alone

I don't want to sound cynical but religion, if it could, can go fuck itself.

( I'm ready for loads of hate comments, bring it c: )

I don't really follow any religion. Like, I'm affiliated with a religion because of my parents, but do I follow any of the religious laws? no. Do I go to temple? No--at most I go two days a year for an hour a day--if at all. Do I believe in God? Yes/no--I believe that the universe was created by the big bang, but what created the elements that when into the big bang--but then what created god, so....I feel that there needs to have been something that set the universe in motion, but I also believe there had to have been something to set that in motion :/

I do, however, find it hysterical when devout religious followers start preaching:

"Join or become a sinner and go to hell"

"Continue to be gay and go to hell"

and any other bullshit.

Understand how it was written. Some guy (prophet) wrote down words that he was told from god. So, just to simplify things, you're following the words of a man who was talking to the sky. In all honesty, if that happened today you'd call the guy nuts and write off the box as the fictional creation of an insane man.

God is selfish? literally the best argument against religion I have ever heard.

Let's look at this from two angles:

1. Let's assume a god does exist. He is selfish. You refuse to worship him. What? You're going to refuse to believe in the existence of an omnipotent being because you think he's "selfish".

2. Let's assume a god doesn't exist. Those who think he does often portray him as what you think is selfish. Therefore, you refuse to believe in him.

You act like he's a political candidate ffs

And the rights thing? If god is an omnipotent creator, then it is he who gives you all of your rights. So, in that case, people do not have rights.

I'm not defending creationism, or even the existence of a god, but... think before you type, man...
