Happysedits
Do you have any memories from those ages, I do from 2014-2015 quite a few. I used to be happy with every single scrap profit I gained and it seemed like 1000$ to me. I used to join random servers, go to spec, see if people have hats, if they had hats, I traded them and showed them like 50 unique weapons asking if they wanna buy one for 2 other weapons, and it worked lol. Today we have scrap.tf. Or when I traded hats for the first time. I went to tf2outpost and I saw someone selling conga, he had 1 ref on the other side, I was like OMG PROFIT ITS 48931% DISCOUNT WHAT WHAT. (and he had his price in the notes, yeah, I was one of those kids offering 1 ref if you had 1 ref on the other side XD) Or I made 1 scrap profit by selling 1.33 hat for 1.44 hat and I felt like the richest guy in the world. MrDeepDarkmind
I remember when this happened But yeah I remember back then how easy it was to profit and to sell expensive unusuals easily now it's somewhat slow I remember when you can craft black roses and make profit out of them which happen over about 1 fucking week, same to the craftavle poker night items, Strange normals being unboxed and universal killstreaks (Glitch mettle Lel), I remember how keys where like 12 ref Happysedits
Kevin the Chicken God
I remember back before bptf when people would be trading weapons for hats and shit I also remember selling a salvaged crate (worth like 7 keys at the time, which was a ton for my like 1 key bp) to tf2wh for 2 ref Later on I remember trading a lot on RAWR trade servers, which was fun even though there wasn't a whole lot of trading going on
Professional Map Painter
Used to frequent Luigi 30's toaster trade server back in 2011. UKCS also used to run some great TF2 servers, but they've been dead for just over a year now. As for trades: Been using most trade sites since their release (tf2tp is probably the only exception) - iirc I'm one of the first 4k users to log in to tf2op (back when it was actually alive). This was back when keys went for 2 ref, and quite a few hats were worth more than they are now. First unbox was a Strange Medigun from one of the Uber Updates series of crates (around #25 iirc.) Sold it for a key. Happysedits
Slippery Nipple
I remember TF2 spreadsheet. People caring if an item was gifted or not. Signed items being relevant. I also remember when people referred to hats as dirty, didn't hear that for a while now. Happysedits
Prof. TrollDemo Ph.D
I was trading from near the start, I don't remember that much, but when my brother started trading, I remember him getting quick switch scammed for 2 ref, he was devastated. How the times have changed...
AdamWTS
I remember getting my first strange. I started as your typical w+m1 Pyro, and after some time, I wanted to get a strange Backburner. At first, I thought you got Strange weapons by crafting (that's because the trading recipe required more cost than just buying a weapon for a scrap). But to my disappointment, I was proven wrong. Later a friend that introduced me to TF2 explained that you get one by uncrating or buying from other people. I had absolutely no idea how to buy one, yet even find one, so I asked my friend to help. I slowly amassed my first 1.66 ref from weapon drops and gave it to him to buy a Backburner for me. Sadly, I don't seem to have that Backburner anymore. I must've had sold it when I was changing my playstyle.
Apo
I remember overpaying for taunts and hats in pure keys because I didn't want to deal with metal. I'd buy some like half key taunt and a misc and craft hat together for a key. I also avoided buds entirely. Good decision on my part I guess lol. I also remember my first (or one of my first) unbox being a strange part damage dealt (it was like 5-10 keys or sth), and some people tried sharking it for random shit. Like some guy tried offering a white vintage fosters facade 1:1. This was when I was completely new to tf2, so I was already sketched, as I always am, when starting a new game that has an economy. I told him how scm prices made his worthless compared to mine, and he kept trying to argue. Luckily I'm not retarded. Gren
Getting an aussie axtinguisher when 2 cities first came out and trading it for a clean peace sign AA, which at the time was 1.6 buds and buds were 20 keys.
Corpfox
Didn't care about trading. Always gotten hat drops and give away to friends. But remember when everything was dirt cheap. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6106780#latest And glitchy...
Moose
One of the first trades I remember making was buying a level 100 tower of pillaring hats for a key. At the time a key was worth like 2 ref. So wasn't that bad of a deal plus I really liked the hat at the time and level
Noot Boot
I remember the Trade.tf name apacolypse. I was confused, why everyone suddenly had "trade.tf" in their name, later I realized it was a website and decided to check it out, that was the day I started trading
Scootaloo
Oh, I have loads of memories. One of my highlights'd have to be when that one crate with the Strange Liberty Launcher came out and it easily sold for 4 keys and pulling 2 of them during the hype. BlaqkAudio
I remember being extremely lucky with my trading. A lot of my first drops were cosmetics and tools. Got myself up to a 4 key backpack and then getting scammed shortly after. I'm just glad it happened very early on since it was a huge learning experience.
