Is trading still worth it?

Keys are inflated and if you want to profit your forced to be a dick and don't get me started on unusual's...Anyways is it even worth it anymore? I quit but I was thinking of starting again but, seeing how keys inflated and people being dicks about making a profit, it just doesn't seem worth it anymore, when I used to trade I would make maybe two scrap profit IN A DAY. What do you all think? Is it worth it to start from the bottom up again?

Could you perhaps elaborate the 'profit traders are dicks' part?

Because I am pretty sure that every single trader, just like you, is looking for profit. So according to that logic, every trading who is looking for some profit is a dick?

That wasn't the entire point of the post but if you want to make a profit you have to say "Oh you don't want want to help me out? Then you should go kill yourself." Ans so you believe trading to still be worth it now that keys are inflated?

I'd like to make profit, yet I don't tell anyone to go kill themselves when they don't purchase my stuff.

Also, keys are not inflated. Keys are relatively stable, although, they are slightly on the low side at the moment due to bots undercutting each other.

Keys aren't inflated, metal is. Metal will always have a value because low-tier items still exist, but unless Valve creates a metal sink they will continue to devalue, which could in theory render scrap and reclaimed value-less and thus restrict pricing to solely refined. Not that it matters, and Valve has no intention to create a metal sink from an economical point of view, so...

You just have to ride on the right side of the wave, keys get raised, keys get lowered, (actually they stay the same, metal gets cheaper/more expensive) buy low/sell high always applies to everything no matter what price it is.

3 ref or 30 ref, the price of keys doesn't apply to everything, as long as a few factors remain valid:

There are people who can sell

There are people who can buy

There is stock to be bought

People always want to buy stuff cheaper than the lowest price, and people always want to sell stuff more expensive than the highest price, however on the other hand there are always the people who NEED STUFF RIGHT NOW! AND DAMN THE EXPENSE! who will just buy at the advertised price.

Trading is still worth it, as long as you're doing it right.

Just depends how much passion you have in trading. If you are willing to put the time forward to learn and work at it sure its worth it.

But if you're not going to. Don't bother.

And for as the asshole thing. There are assholes everywhere can't really avoid that.

People like me who are assholes exist everywhere its inevitable. Get used to it.

Trading is still worth it, but it's not worth trying to start from nothing.Instead, it's best to start from an initial investment (8-10 keys minimum, 15-20 best) and go from there, as otherwise, it will take forever to get to the point where trading actually becomes worth it.

Going from around a 0.66 in reclaimed to where I am now required tons of grinding, and I've only got around enough value in my backpack to just get a Cancer Unusual

Profit is still here, but you have only like 10 ref backpack isn't enough to do good profit remebers more is big your backpack more is easier to do good profit.

I recommend unusuals trading is best way to do profit because you will do profit in keys not in ref/scrap.

also snice trading bot spaming sell order and buy order is really hard to do profit on small items.

Unrelated but that picture makes me so sad. I can't imagine laughing at someone I see in the street who was such a good friend they kept pictures of our time together in their time of despair, it's just a really depressing image :(

Its difficult, but not impossible, to start from near the bottom. I started trading from a prehistoric pullover i bought off the steam market in october 2016, my backpack is worth about 70 keys now.

I started in December 2016 with $40 and my backpack is worth 1000 keys approximately if you count unpriced unusuals. Just freakin invest some money is the beginning. Why is it so hard to do that?

I started with 3.77 ref in like September and made most of my profit during the key-pocalypse in December. Now I've got a ~35k unusual. It's worth it if you make it worth it.

im underage, as many traders are, and dont have much money to spend on tf2 due to our parents not wanting to give it to us. so, we're forced to start from the very bottom. i got that pullover only because it was my birthday present, lol.
