Noot ♥
It has come to my attention lately that there are multiple users that have flooded certain items on the classifieds listings with identical items, in this case, keys. The first 22 pages of the classifieds were filled with listing from bots of the same "user" for the exact same price. To put this in perspective, there are nearly 220 listings of the same item by the bots operating under the same user. It should come as no surprise that these listings will take a fair amount of time to sell. While I do not condone nor support limiting listings per user which violates the free economy tf2 has, it does gives rise to a serious problem that is panic selling. Currently there are no alternative methods to get your listings near the front page without undercutting or frequently bumping the listings. The massive influx of listings clogging up the front few pages of the classifieds may become a pseudo-barrier, forcing others to lower their price in order to get more visibility. It is suggested that identical listings for each individual user be stacked as shown for example This allows the classifieds listings to be unaffected while allowing others a fair chance to sell or buy their items at a competitive price. For users without premium or donation autobump, it is suggested that the timestamp that the listing has is the most recent one, thus giving these users to refresh their listings without having to go through the hassle of manually bumping X amount of the same listing over and over again. Of course, the 7 day unbump and remove rule still applies, forcing these users to keep their listings in check even with the suggested stacking of listings. The proposed changes to the classifieds will free up space and make the listings appear less cluttered. It would bring about benefits to users with a smaller inventory value without harming the interests of others. Eazy Peazy Squeezy Lemons
Administrators Teeny Tiny Cat Posted February 23, 2017 Administrators Share Posted February 23, 2017 Been requested before and I am in favour, but it's not easy for the devs to implement. Feature request already exists here: http://backpack.tf/issue/5738ee3bc440453f2e67d9ad
Axle Change
I spent some time developing a script for this, however as cares noted it would cause issues with the 10 listings per page. There are two ways around this in scripting that I thought of, both relying on Ajax requests, either adding them to the bottom of the page or "faking" pages to load more classifieds and replacing the current HTML. The other issue is that it is extremely time consuming to check listings other than "adjacent" listings, as in if an identical listing was separated by something it should still stack. Currently there is also no easy way around this.
Administrators ѕιи Posted February 24, 2017 Administrators Share Posted February 24, 2017 The easiest solution to this is to make a new box next to the refined metal and crate keys box saying how many you are selling. http://imgur.com/a/KxfqH Since bp.tf keeps track of your items using the api, it could have a slider you could input to see how many of whatever item you're selling and it'd keep everything in one listing. Then you could make it to where you can only have one buy and sell listing per item.
Knurr
How about a special section in classifieds just for bots? A separation from regular users and bots. Bots would have their own section/classifieds, and users theirs. If You were a bot owner, You would have to fill a special form - just like how company, even one-man, has to fill one in real life. Oh and stacking on top of that. I do realise saying isn't doing something, and that some solutions need to be thought of before.
