How did you find backpack.tf?

After hearing about it for a few months after it first started, I basically just migrated over when spreadsheet started dying/got accused of manipulating the prices for profit.

Somebody commented on my outpost trade that I was over pricing my item and that I was a scammer because spreadsheet had it at a lower price and then and another guy said that backpack.tf had it even lower so I was definitely a scammer and he'd report me to steam. So I went to check out backpack.tf and it looked a lot better than spreadsheet so I stayed. Then the whole silly spreadsheet drama happened and bptf exploded

In Smissmas 2013, when I didn't know anything about item prices, I got sharked out of a strange festive flare gun and lots of hats. I found backpack.tf a few hours after the trade, and boy was I bummed out.

The day I became P2P almost 4 years ago. I unboxed a Strange Beggar's Bazooka and my friend told me he could buy it for 1.33 ref. I was confused what he meant, so he explained item pricing and bp.tf. I was lucky to find out about item pricing so quickly and it was a good friend of mine so he didn't try to shark me.

Spreadsheet? I started trading two years ago, and never heard of that. What happened?

It was the old guide that most people used to price items until someone noticed that the guy who ran it was manipulating item prices for personal profit.

Ex: He'd purchase item X, raise its price, sell item X for the higher price, then set its price to what it was before.

can't remember exactly, it was either because trade servers started using the bptf plugin for in-server pricing instead of spreadsheet or it was because of the steam card exchange service

I was googling th value of the items I unboxed. Thus, I learned about bp tf and how fucked over I got from my $20 steam card to these items I unboxed.

I found scrap.tf before i found bp (this was a little over a year ago). I had seen some people with scrap.tf in their names in pubs, and i knew about trading, so i decided to go take a look. I was entering raffles on there for a couple weeks before i started exploring all the links they have on there. And thats how i found bible.tf

I had a dumb argument over some Soldier cosmetic, he was telling me I was offering a bad price. He linked me the bp.tf page for it and yeah. I realised how useful it'd be and stayed. Joined the forums a few weeks later. What a mistake that was.

I think in 2013 when I started actively trading. I wanted to get rid of items and ended up on TF2Outpost, then I needed prices so I just searched on Google and I ended up here. Atleast, that's how I think it went. Not entirely sure after 4 years.

A friend told me about cosmetic trading - naturally I had already found out cosmetics existed because I saw other people wearing them. Then I became aware of the most magnificent item in the game - the caribbean conqueror - and I needed that in my life. I forgot how but I ended up finding bptf when I googled it or something.

And thus began my thousand year reign of blood and dress-up

So in order to become p2p, I said fuck it and started unboxing. I bought maybe like 4-5 keys and unboxed a few stranges and a cosmetic. Then I wanted to figure out how much my stuff was worth and my friend told me about backpack.tf. I saw how much my stuff was worth and then became depressed. The End XD
