Where does the Democratic Party go from here?

What they need to do is focus on correcting the Republican gerrymandering that occurred after 2010.  As far as the presidency goes, they should always be seeking a charismatic, hopefully populist, candidate who is still a Democrat.

Because only the evil Right gerrymanders. The poor innocent Democrats would never, ever do something so unfair and inappropriate...

Erm...

Sarcasm aside, there's actually a lot of really interesting stuff being written (And has been written) on gerrymandering. I highly recommend reading up on it, a lot of it is extremely understated (Though as Democrats try to scrape together reasons for why the election was rigged, you'll likely be seeing a lot more on it). Especially interesting is the relation between city Democrats and the gerrymandering politicians, some of which are Republican.

I know they gerrymandered and I have heard that they have allowed the current situation so that their own districts were not contestable.  The question was what should the democrats do.  I see the corruption of both parties.  I would even say that many in the Dem party are unconcerned with what has happened because the election doesn't effect them.  Imagine the Dems in NY or Cali and ask, why do they care about left leaning american's in flyover country?  For that fact, why do they care about anyone in flyover country?  Both of those states have control over their own economies, culture and lifestyles.  Trump can't really effect them without doing something extreme.

Identity politics/Hillary Clinton is a main reason that many of the former pro-Democratic candidate voters/humans with emotions and brains voted out of their party this election.  But as far as where the Dems go from here, they just have to kill their DNC and all the greedy, corrupt politicians serving on it. In fact, the entire basis of their mainstream party seems to be run by greedy, corrupt politicians so we'll just have to #Federalism it and create a new party.

Trump won Florida.
