Android vs Apple

I want to trigger people because I'm bored... Also, being a massive android purist (OP3), I'm interested to hear why people still buy iOS devices.

P.S. I despise Apple stuff but I'll try to hold back ;)

Because iOS is better. /thread.

But seriously, I do prefer iOS over Android. It's just a personal preference. The two are virtually the same for the vast majority of tasks, but iOS just feels better -- it feels snappier/more intuitive/etc... Plus I have a Mac so the added continuity between OS X and iOS is amazing (specifically how seamlessly messages (and texts), calls, and video calls sync between devices -- and yes there are alternatives that do that on Android, but they're pretty bad and inconsistent).

Personally, my dad and I each got an iPhone 4 for $30 when we upgraded our phone plan a couple years ago. It's too old to play Pokemon go, but aside from that it hasn't failed me yet so I haven't had a reason to switch to an android or even a newer iPhone.

And the fact that iPhones don't have a history of catching fire and / or exploding is generally a plus.

I like Iphones cause the military doesn't use them as grenades.

JK, JK, I just feel it's easier for me and comfier to use an Iphone. I know nothing about Android and the Note 7 in particular. Crossing my fingers I didn't trigger someone.

Android is objectively better in pretty much every way but I can respect the simplicity.

Having owned both including a Windows phone as well, and currently owning 5 phones 2 being Iphones, I prefer Android by far.

Yeah, no, it's not.

It's just a personal preference. iOS just feels better

you really made a good case for yourself, bravo. "it just feels better" easily trumps someone who owns iOS products and hates them

I said objectively better in almost every way, not objectively better, don't alter my posts.

Mmm, never said I hate them, I just prefer Android.

I didn't say you can't like one better than the other (or hate one and not the other). But that doesn't make one objectively better. "Objectively better", by definition implies something as being a factually superior, which is not the case. iOS vs. Android is an opinion question and neither one is objectively better than the other.

I said objectively better in almost every way, not objectively better, don't alter my posts.

My point still stands, that's not even remotely close to being an accurate statement. And regardless, saying something is "objectively better in almost every way" is akin to saying something is "objectively better".

Seems you guys delivered nonetheless lol

Tbf I still can't see why people spend that much money on what pretty much comes down to aesthetics... It's not like some android phones look nice anyway, but I guess people think differently to me ;)

*TRIGGERED* Samsung is shit, not gonna pretend, and it's a shame that it makes up the majority of android phones. However, most companies, unlike samsung, make good, non-C4 phones :P

I've used both iOS and android and obviously there's no objectively "better" choice.

I personally prefer iOS though, to bad I'm stuck with a samsung/android phone for now.

It's not aesthetics, and most flagships have piss poor price/performance. And there are downsides to cheap flagships like the OP3 -- poor customer service and low quality control.

If it was aesthetics I wouldn't have bought my 6s+ since I find the 6s+ design to be boring.

Completely agree with you mate, well summed up ;) Interesting to see someone who prefers iOS after an experience with both... Bad android experience?

I think there is value to recognizing the strengths of something, especially when it is the preference of many people.

Oh don't take what I said the wrong way... I hate it but still respect why people like it

iOS just frustrates me less and tends to work more consistently with less bugs/glitches. Plus it generally seems smoother and less choppy.

I switched from my Razr Maxx to a 5s because the Razr became incredibly laggy and the only way to fix it was to root and overclock it, which then broke text messages to the point where I'd just randomly not get half my texts. I also recently had a Galaxy Note 8 which I got rid of after not too long after getting it since it was just sluggish and didn't offer an enjoyable user experience. I've also used a friends S7 for a bit, and it's also just not quite as enjoyable to use as my 6s+. And like I said, integrated with OS X just makes everything so much better.
