if you're going to use your phone for trading, doesn't matter, pick whatever will end up being cheapest to buy or whichever UI you like better

(iphones are smartphones btw :u)

Well I have never had an iphone personally I have had a few androids and they have worked great. I have the Droid Turbo (the first one) and I have dropped it like 20 times hard but it still looks almost perfect. Galaxies are also nice (as long as they don't explode)

If you're only going to use it for steam you won't need a fancy phone. Just get a cheap one. Since there are no cheap ios phones, get an android phone. There is no real security differenes betweem the operating systems. Alternatively, use geels desktop authenticator, it works just fine and won't require you to buy a phone.

well i see i think to buying a phone in 200-350 $ because is useful for me when i move. also i avoid desktop auth because i'm not only trading on one pc when i move is hard to use also isn't very safe. so a good phone is better for me.

Actually Android has had more exploits discovered than iOS and iOS gets better long term support (leading to better security as well). HOWEVER, it's important to note that the security is irrelevant in terms of Steam mobile authenticator.

@Lego, get whichever phone/OS you prefer. For steam mobile authenticator they're equally good.

That's also not quite what I meant. But regardless, I wouldn't worry about the security on either device.

Look: the overall decision, and general consensus of the entire android community lobbies for two phones: The Samsung Galaxy, and the OnePlus line.

OnePlus is better, check it out here: https://oneplus.net/x.

It excels in almost every aspect, and its rooted out of the box.

Except for the fact that the One Plus X was a shitty phone from the start -- poorly priced for the features it offered relative to the OP2, and that's why they didn't bother making a successor to it. AND One Plus has pretty poor quality control and their support is worse than Valve's support, so if you need any help/you have any issues with your phone, then you're basically never going to get help.

Just a warning if you're considering get the LG G4, the screen can burn out. As in the entire board behind the screen suddenly gives out due apparently bad soldering. Purely anecdotal however, so take it with a grain of salt

Just get a Galaxy S5.

It's really good still, has somewhat good hardware, will run quickly, it's water resistant, and has a fingerprint scanner.

Use stock touchwiz and dont put much on it.

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SM-G900H-Unlocked-Cellphone-International/dp/B00JKSUHLU

(It's about $100 cheaper if you buy a carrier locked)

https://www.amazon.com/Moto-4th-Generation-Exclusive-Lockscreen/dp/B01DZJFSZ4/ref=pd_lpo_107_bs_lp_t_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=F3BP63C7XSBRXZE38TNH&th=1

Moto G is also an option, but it doesnt have as many features as the S5. (About the same specs though) You won't get waterproofing, fingerprint, and  it's a smaller screen.

Both have 2GB ram, S5 is 2.5GHZ 4 core and the Moto G is 1.5 GHZ 8 core.

Honestly if i were you i'd go for the 6-6s. Battery last considerably long, as long as you are smart about closing your apps. Easy to operate, can't really go wrong with it either, price should have dropped also, that being the new 7 came out.

I can support what A-Money said. The only smartphones I've ever used are Samsung Galaxies, and they've been incredibly durable (this applies to the fact that you said you're moving); the only reason I had to switch from the 3 to the 5 was because I dropped it in my washing machine with my laundry. :(

If you're willing to try it, you can usually get Samsungs for cheaper than iPhones, especially on eBay.

I've owned 2 iPhones and an iPod in the past, right now I have an LG G3 and I can tell you first hand it's so much better than the apple products

Personal preference does not equate to better. You personally prefer Android for some unlisted reason. Others prefer iOS over Android. For example, I personally prefer iOS.

Go for android, generally going to be way cheaper. Yo ucan get a 60$ android phone Wal-Greens or Walmart and be able to trade.

And you'll basically want to shoot yourself when using any of those.

I got a phone brand new for literally $10 on black friday last year and it's pretty alright. Kinda feel like an upgrade but no hurry.
