Apeiron
Hey guys, I'm wondering Which classes items or effects more wanted and why? What determines Unusual prices? except new update items/effects. What do Traders and Players think when they are buying an Unusual? or when they are determining value an unusual? Rareness.. Yes. I know that. But some of them sold above of actual value. Like this example: http://backpack.tf/suggestion/5717520683de6b543d4e1417 Miami Nights Cotton Head Exist: 26 But Item's value has increased 19 keys to 77-87 keys 10 days ago. Why people are buying for 77 keys while actual value is 19 keys?
rafiozol
cotton head is now all-class hat, the 19 keys price is from 6 months ago when that was only pyro hat https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cotton_Head#Update_history
Apeiron
cotton head is now all-class hat, now it sells for more because of it https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cotton_Head#Update_history Oh I missed that, I was thinking still pyro's hat. Thank you to remind me. BTW, still my question is open.
Tobbby92
Hohoho "actual value", there is no real price, just what people bought it last for. Like this hat: http://backpack.tf/stats/Unusual/Head%20Warmer/Tradable/Craftable/19 Do you really think it is worth that much? Of course not, but it was the only one available and the buyer really wanted it.
Vision
Well, hats prices are mostly based on class popularity. Like you see, most people play either soldier, demo or scout,so those hats are the most expensive ones. And not many people play engineer, that's why they are so cheap. And as for effects, themes play a big role there, example, most expensive effect on all pyro hats is burning flames, get it?Since it's themed to pyro. But that ain't the only instance, the other big role in effect popularity is if it's 1st(burning flames, circling heart...),2nd(steaming,smoking,nuts n' bolts),3rd gen(terror-watt,miami nights),haloween(hellfire, ghastly ghosts jr),or EOTL(death at dush, molten mallard). Supply, demand, and hat popularity also play a big role on the price, hope that answers your question :^)

Is there any rational concern of players ? When I had tried to sell 1 of 1 Time Warp Handyman's Handle, someone was said who wants to pay double price for GBH? It wasn't even GBH lol. At the end; Is this our sale mentality: "Sellers determines the price and Buyers have to pay for it If they want it?"

Starting at $63 in the market lol. inb4 Cashew bans you for making a joke about his head warmers That market is for all types of Unusual Head Warmers as they are grouped together. http://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/440/Unusual%20Head%20Warmer Of course, you'd have the low tier effects being listed at about $63, whilst the higher tiered unusuals are often listed for higher or not put on SCM. It doesn't seem higher tier when comparing with Nebula. Even frostbite is higher effect than circling heart to me.
Scott Bakula
Even frostbite is higher effect than circling heart to me. Key part there is "to me" While individuals have particular preferences, tiers are determined by the entire market, not just a few people.
