Unusual Effect?

I'm in the market for a certain unusual hat. I'm currently arguing with myself over the Stormy Storm effect and a Orbiting Fire.

I don't really want to mention the hat, because I don't want some dick to go out of his way and purposely raise the price of the hat (But i'm sure if you search hard enough, you'll find it).

So I came to the community. Which would you rather? A Stormy Storm *KOFF*spy*KOFF* hat or a Orbiting fire one?

I've seen threads where people say Stormy Storm>Orbiting Fire, but they weren't for a spy hat. So, guys, may I ask you a favour and vote on this website and comment below?

how on earth can we rise the price of a 2nd gen unusual, 99% of the time they always LOWER in price.

Effect tier generally isn't affected unless a certain effect is themed with the class (Flies for Sniper, Burning for Pyro at times, etc)

Generally, Stormy Storm is more valuable than Orbiting Fire, but if you're worried about the looks, then it shouldn't be a concern, there's generally not a huge gap in value between the two.

I think stormy looks better, my backpack might make me appear biased though. Stormy also tends to be worth more. Its just more visible and prevelant.

I prefer Orbiting Fire :3

But really, I'll take any effect on any hat at this point because I'm poor af ;_;

Either works as long as it fits in your budget. On lower tier hats the difference between storm and orbiting fire price-wise is pretty minimal.

Unusuals are all opinion based, buy whatever you like. Alternatively, you can use tf2loadout.com to czech out a plethora of unusual effects/cosmetics.

I think it's quite obvious however, which effect is more...charming or visible, because essentially Orbiting Fire is just a small orange dot that rotates around the character's face/head.

I've had an orbiting fire L'homme (BURGER) Burglerre and it wasn't that horrible, despite the fact I thought I hated orbiting fire.

O. Fire is now considered better over stormy imo

Stormy >>> orb fire, especially on spy. Doesn't matter a whole lot since you'll be disguised 90% of the time, but I'd definitely go for stormy.

Also, if you're worried about the price of one or the other changing, you could ask one of us to update the price of them. Don't remember who off the top of my head, but a bunch of us take requests to update unusuals, so you could ask around and see if anyone can fix the prices now so they don't change later.

thanks guys! I am probably going to choose Stormy Storm, but i'm really in no fuss about the price. I've gambled away $200 worth of unusuals I traded up to in a few months, and just re-reached my $100 mark a few days ago! I just really liked the idea of the fireball going around my head :3. Gonna check tf2outpost(loadout).com to compare the looks!

That site does not accurately show unusual effects.
