Why the fuck don't we revert to key values on unusuals?

I've already lost $400+ due to earbuds dropping... why don't we just revert to their key values if say, buds were worth 16 keys (their average price over the years)

Fucking bullshit

Because some unusuals are still being sold in buds and we can't just do it like that. They have to sell in keys to price them in keys. It would by innacurate by the other way.

Because we need sales in keys rather than sales in buds to change prices if you don't like that currency anymore. We can't just assume every bud purchase was when buds were, lets say, 12 keys. That would be misinforming people of the items true values, wait for your unusuals to get updated and stop being so salty.

True. I wish valve would make buds an untradable cosmetic and award people 16 free keys for every bud they have.

That would inadvertedly crash the economy.

Nothing like free keys.

Or, like the wise Knavesmith once said, you can stop caring about your bp value.

It's more than just backpack value. When buds drop, the value of an unusual priced in buds will stay the same, but the value in keys will be lower. That means low-mid tier trading can really hurt you.

For example, let's say buds are worth 10 keys one day, and you own an unusual worth 3 buds. Then buds drop to 9 keys, and suddenly your unusual is worth 3 keys less, and buds will most likely keep dropping while you're trying to sell an unusal, making the unusual drop several keys. If you had quickbought the hat, then you might struggle at some point to break even, or make profit from it. Simply because the backpack.tf price does affect your offers and in the end, the amount you sell your unusual for. That is a problem aswell.

Have you considered the option that your unusuals are also losing their value?

If you haven't noticed, it's not just Earbuds dropping. Earbuds are just so common that it's extremely visible, but they are not the only item that is declining in value.

im pretty sure nothing in my inventory has been voted down... most of my stuff is mid tier 1/1 on the market

I doubt that unusual-valued buds would count as 16, as you're implying, due to the fluctuation of buds. Unless you're cashing out, I HIGHLY doubt bp value is really an issue. Not like you cap points faster for each $100 you have. Just enjoy the game and the hats you have now.

When I proposed price in keys (because of most sell in keys) all your community comment to use buds and vote down.

The most annoying comment 'one of your sale contains a hat price in buds, you should use buds'. With this kind of comments, no price will be listed in keys (well perhaps that now price of buds is so low, you will change your mind.... a little late)

well to be fair i really dont buy my hats to wear, i buy to sell... the game is getting a bit stale because valve puts 99% of their shits into cs:go

You missed the point. Just because the "price" @ bp.tf isn't adjusted doesn't mean that your unusual/expensive item isn't losing value.

That's true most of bp is losing value. But that's not mandatory to go low at the same speed of buds.

out of the entire steam market catalog can you give an example.unusual hats in steam market never drop in price some exceptions are for the most cancer hats true that lose like 2-3$ but still they sell the same as when buds where 16 keys each.

http://steamcommunity.com/market/search?q=&category_440_Type[]=any&category_440_Quality[]=tag_rarity4&appid=440#p1_price_ascnothing changed for steam market buds are not a currency any more and they do not have an effect on unusual steam market.

unusuals must be priced in keys every sell that occur in buds must be converted in keys at the given time and suggested as such.

either that or ppl will just stop using this site as a price checking tool.I am amazed that ppl think bp.tf is accurate at unusual when they are using buds as a currency.

No matter what currency you have, your backpack is losing value. Keys used to be sold for ~$1.85 not too long ago, now there are sellers at $1.75. Buds went from $30 to $15. Ref, do I even need to say it? The only items not changing as much would be items, but no one has their backpack value in items.

yesterday a smoking stash was sold for 40 keys with buds at 8 keys that would make the sell a 5 bud sell(bp.tf price for it is 27? keys lel). but if you suggest now the stash at 5 buds in 3 weeks that buds will worth 5 keys that will make the stash 25 keys.you think that suggestion will be accurate,is that your opinion?and you are a mod of the biggest pricing site in tf2 trading?

bp.tf is losing its credibility you can stay in denial or do something about it,as it is suggested from several ppl in the past.

it is clearly that ppl don't use buds as a currency at least not as much as they used to.

it is an easy fix but you have to want to fix it which clearly as it seems it is not in your interests to do so.

I'm with you, timing of sale now has a big say in what item is worth.
