How far can we realistically take arguments

Before they become flame wars? Does a prolonged argument count as a flame war, or does it have to become a personal attack?

How far can we push the boundaries before we get warning points?

These are just a few of the questions I have always wanted to know.

To infinity and beyond!!

On a more serious note, if you keep bringing up new arguments withouy shouting at each other or insulting the other, its a discussion. If you only do one, its debatable and if you do neither its a flamewar

Argument begins ---> One person is proven wrong -------> Desperate attempts to grasp a credible counter-argument -------------------(infinity)--------------------> Still desperate attempts to grasp at credible counter-argument

When you're clearly getting to heated up.

There is a difference between expressing your own opinion and taking a shit on everyone else while trying to convince them you are correct.
