Working on an appeal (OP/SR)

I think it's best if I put up my appeal for others to read/proofread first since when I do stuff on my own it usually goes poorly. I plan on using this on outpost (they have no FAQ about their SR marks, so I used the SR appeal format)

Reputation Threads: http://backpack.tf/trust/76561198037001951
Make Your Case:
I think I'm supposed to be appealing the offenses listed on SteamRep, not the ones here.

I admit to trading with scammers or scammer alts 4 times in a 10month period, learning their reputations after the trades.
1. Sometime in summer 2013 - (I don't have a profile link) - I traded an unusual I can't recall (might have been a hearts bombing run) for a beams ketche after a marked user added me to make an offer. Once I had the ketche, I saw that the previous owner was marked.
2. December 21, 2013 - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993463652- I saw a miami TC on the steam market and didn't have funds so I added the user and asked them to take it down. They wanted 15buds for it and thanked me when I pointed out the market only allowed them to get ~9buds for it. This was a time when many unusuals were being unboxed and sold on the market so I assumed he was the unboxer and bought it for his price. Shortly after, I saw that there was a pending report saying the TC had been paypal scammed.
3. January 19, 2014 - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198066921629- I saw a miami practitioner on the market for an almost good price so I added the owner to buy with keys instead. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary since the user haggled and I thought scammers always sold things as quick as possible. Vintage Cobra later added me and warned me that I had bought a hat from a scammer alt.
4. April 21, 2014 - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198056213049- I don't remember much about this one, just that it happened in the morning before school. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary since they overpaid in promos for my searing rag and I thought scammers always just quicksold their unusuals. I learned they were marked when I received a one week ban on Outpost at the beginning of June for this trade.

The similarity I noticed between these is that they behaved like normal traders, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were not doing something bad. I know now that it is better to treat others with suspicion until you can prove their innocence.

As for the burning tossle incident, that occurred because I misinterpreted previous incidents regarding the SCM.
1. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12806162This was where I first learned that there was cheap unusuals on the SCM and that shady accounts sell there. I made the incorrect assumption that since a scammer alt could make their items available to all traders by making their account private, it didn't matter who you bought from on the market.
2. http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/14190-cranwell-confirmed-scammer-fence/I saw the fruit shoot at a really good price and bought it immediately. Even though it was a great below thread that people don't take seriously, a few people cared that the previous owner was a scammer until I showed I bought it from the market. This doesn't really add much, aside from the average user not caring about what happens on the SCM.

A side note on the tossle itself http://i.imgur.com/e8ul7F6.jpg: It was fairly late at night and I don't think I checked back on the status before buying the tossle because I was worried someone might buy it before me. My reply to the status was intended to acknowledge that I took oblivions's advice (I know for certain I saw that before buying, I usually follow the first reply if it matches my opinion) and to convey "Too late to do anything different now." to Punishment's warning.

There was no intention to help scammers or launder using the SCM. I was just doing what I thought was normal and acceptable.

I'd appreciate if you read through and left some feedback on what I need to elaborate on in my appeal instead of just skimming to find my alts.

tl:dr - 4 instances of trading with scammers/alts that I know of because I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't check rep. And there was no malicious intent/organization behind the tossle incident, just a routine purchase on the SCM.

Now to wait 1 year for an admin to care. I mean recognize it after having to deal with an ENTIRE 3 seperate reports!

Cranwell you have no chance. I think you should stop now while you're ahead, we're all so sorry you lost everything, but steamrep isn't going to unban you because you're "Sorry".

Outpost never considered me. And that's outpost.

I never intended to trade with scammers either, and all appeals I've made have been closed. No one has ever had any proof I traded willingly, but when it comes to outpost, you're guilty until proven innocent.

I know this appeal is mainly for steamrep, because a steamrep unban probably means unban on outpost too, but I rest my case. I doubt steamrep will unban you.

snippity snip

I get the feeling that outpost will tell you to deal with your SR mark first, and SR will ask you to deal with the outpost mark first. You'll never succeed.

I know an outpost unban isn't possible with their 2 strike system but I'm pretty sure they can't use their rules to mark a person on steamrep.

Was that necessary?

Yes, even if the report is a waste of time as you said im sure steamrep will atleast consider it since cranwell is popular in the community, and other than buying a few scammed items, is entirely legitimate

Please stop deraling the thread and try to start a flame war here. This isn't about who is better and who isn't. Also, what does being popular has to do with anything? You really think SR will consider cranwell because "he is popular in the community"? Please go visit their appeal section and see how it works. If this was all about "popularity" people like Buhela would have been unmarked and un-banned by now.

You insulted me rather than stating your point, and when you did state your point, it was faulty.

Riruka, I love you.

Good luck cranwell, hate to see so much money go down the drain for nothing.

There have been a few cases in which i've noticed people are friends with mods and given pardons just because they're given favoritism, im sure Cranwell is a nice guy and im sure that steamrep will try to give him a fair judgement since nobody here really dislikes Cranwell

I don't know whether you will succeed on first try or not but it is worth a shot. Being honest is the right way to go and this is what you did on the appeal. Glad to see that you have learned your ways. If this doesn't work, don't loose hope. You can always try again in a few months.  Good luck! ^_^

I've told you once via PM and have no qualms saying it again on the forums. Quicksell (or not) everything via SCM, buy CSGO keys or knives, and start a CSGO trading career. SR is non existent in CSGO.

Call me prideful, but it's not worth putting yourself out there for them to take MONTHS (if not a year) for them to even consider getting back to you.

You're trying to allege that steamrep is corrupt and there are steamrep admins who take bribes, and make special exceptions for their friends?

Please list at least one example.

Its more like people who are favorited by admins just don't get reported at all

i guess an example would be someone like wayne or criminal

Even if he would believe it's hopeless (and I agree that it is hopeless and I happen to think he deserved what happened), he's losing nothing by appealing except his own time.  So who are you to tell him to not bother?

Who am I to tell him not to bother? Maybe a user expressing their opinion. Yeah, that might be what I am.

Why is everyone so hostile today?

My reason for telling him not to bother is because I do not believe the appeal will pass. As a concerned fellow member, I voiced my thoughts.

Oh and in case you want an example of some sort

Take a look at some of the hats Criminal is quickselling

http://backpack.tf/item/3149200889

Alot of them come from a user named FoxiE, which is marked as a scammer on bp.tf. Since Cranwell was banned for buying from scammers why isn't he? Prehaps favoritism is involved?

Not only that, but even with FoxiE being reported on backpack.tf nobody wants to make a steamrep report for either of them, odd isnt it?

We should now make a steamrep report on criminal.

Actually, we shouldnt.

Basically anyone who gets to that level of wealth ends up with scammed hats.

Should a trader have to be hypervigilant in order to trade without getting banned?

No the thing is though he knowingly does it, take a look at the hats he's selling. Not just one is from FoxiE, but a couple are. Its almost as if he knows he's doing it and basically is gambling the trust of the admin's
