I need help...

I need some help.
I've been getting like 3 adds lately (last 2 months) and they all call me a sir.
Now, calling me a sir doesn't seem like a big deal but they all do and want me to trade the unusual for a friend.
The latest guy who wanted me to do it has a great excuse.

Here's an example:

Never tell your password to anyone.
Bibble-Bobble: Hi'
Bibble-Bobble: May I help you?
ZXC: hello
ZXC: you still have your unusual ?
Bibble-Bobble: ya
ZXC: how much in keys ?
Bibble-Bobble: B/O = 40
ZXC: hmmm,
ZXC: let me check if your price is legit
ZXC: hmm,
ZXC: your price seems legit,
ZXC: and fair
Bibble-Bobble: trade?
ZXC: give me a minute
Bibble-Bobble: sure
ZXC: can you send me your backpack.tf link ?
Bibble-Bobble: platinum accuracy and 4 trust ;)
Bibble-Bobble: super contributor
Bibble-Bobble: 9 accepted price submissions
ZXC: R-Dubs B>Unusual Trees
ZXC: his nname have a line or something
Bibble-Bobble: what's with him?
ZXC: sir,
ZXC: i want to see if your hat history changes after trade,
ZXC: would that be ok ?
Bibble-Bobble: why do people keep asking that?
Bibble-Bobble: and calling me a sir? -_-
ZXC: i just want to make sure

Now, if anyone knows, is this some phishing hack or some bug/glitch/exploit?
I need some answers fast...

Dont, it is a scam. "sir" is one of the red flags

How is it a scam, how is it done? Like, does it transfer to him somehow??

It is gonna be a fake middle man. I think sir comes from some translator, or maybe they are trying to be more polite to put down ur guards?

I've been told to trade with a personal friend, haven't seen a fake middleman before

Sir isn't one of the red flags. I often call people sir/ma'am here or in real world. Its a nice gesture.

Once you trade your unusual to the trusted friend, an imposter of your account adds your friend or sends him a trade offer asking for the unusual(s) back. Your friend unknowingly trades the items back and ends up taking a role in you being scammed.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, nvm

Seems quite logical actually...

Although it would add the "(1)" to the name ex: Bibble-Bobble (1)

Usually on steam, only people from foreign countries call people sir, cuz of translator.

How it works is usually you'll give them the profile link of your trusted friend, and then they'll copy your friends profile, picture name and everything. They usually put a period at the end so the 1 isn't there. After you trade the fake alt the hats they block you and boom, your hats are gone.
