It is obvious that most of the internet's websites rely on ads for not only personal income but for money to pay for the cost of hosting the actual website. With the growing popularity of AdBlock throughout the world this may negatively affect virtual creators and websites. Hank Green made a video/ vlog type thing about his own opinions about AdBlock. My opinion is that AdBlock is affecting income of some people but if it gets serious and actually starts affecting large amounts of googles ad revenue they will somehow disable the app/addon. TF2Outpost, on the other hand, it got to the point where I couldn't physically use the site for all their damn pop-ups, so they get ad-blocked.And I don't feel bad about it. You can't even download something nowadays without seeing 10 different download buttons and trying to figure out which is legit. If someone like site enough, he can disable AdBlock on specific webiste. If someone is ruining internet, then these are the sites who force You to disable adblocking/script blocking to see eg. movie. Ads did not ruin the internet, without them we would not have nearly as many high quality websites and youtube videos. Without ads, many online creators would not have money to produce content. Without ads no Rooster Teeth, no Crash Course even no Pewdiepie if you care about the annoying swed. Ads are annoying, but they are definitely beneficial to the internet. Now it's a bloody hi-def.swf which takes ages to load and once loaded is screaming through your earphone trying to get me deaf. funkle Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 "lmao im a quirky nerd ranting about something. everyone should watch and know that im right" that video was awful. first thing first. but anyways, the point he made in that which probably made me cringe the most was when he made the "20% loss" thing up. just because the one monopoly of google is making a smaller amount of cash, doesn't mean it's going to effect the entire internet, which is the way he made it sound. yeah, im sure there are lots of people out there working on anti-adblock whatevers, but I doubt that 20% of the internet will ever use adblock. even if everyone tells everyone to install it. i dont think he took into account when he made this video is that our entire world is now connected. doesnt seem to matter if youre young or old. there are billions internet users on earth right now and a lot of those people have more than one device that connect to the internet and run multiple ads at once. i have no regrets for using adblock. not to mention i can disable it at any time i'd like to help support the people i'd like to support. such as small time streamers or youtubers. just a little heads up though, it is disrespectful to tell youtubers and streamers that you have it running. it's like leaving a shitty tip for a waiter and telling them they didnt deserve it anyway. keep it to yourself, please.
