Make sure you're not using Direct X 8. you can check in the settings I dont know why, but i use Direct x 8 and i cant change it (i have direct x 11...) Well in source games(like Cs:S) if the directx level is different like that it will crash when joining a server. Do you have any cfg? If yes search for mat_dxlevel. If not add +mat_dxlevel 90. DjRize Posted August 21, 2014 Share Posted August 21, 2014 It's a simple fix open steam, go to library and right click Team Fortress 2. Then click on properties and once again on set launch options. Paste this into the launch options -dxlevel 91 click ok and start the game and it will switch over to Direct X 9 close the game go back to steam and repeat the process and remove -dxlevel 91 and you should be good to go.
