inu
Title basically sums it up. I've had the Inspiron 660 for a couple years now and the default Intel Graphics Card can't handle any games besides TF2 and Fistful of Frags. So I'm planning on upgrading my GPU but since my PSU is really weak (300 watts), my choices for GPUs are limited. So I've narrowed it down to these two choices (Both can run on only 300 watts) GeForce GTX 750Ti AMD Radeon HD 7750 So my question is: Will I be able to install a GeForce GTX 750Ti/ AMD Radeon HD 7750 in my Inspiron 660? Basically, do I have enough PCI ports for it? Specs for Inspiron 660 can be found here: http://www.staples.com/Dell-Inspiron-660-Desktop-Computer/product_56855 GTX: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IDG3PRI/?tag=pcper04-20 Radeon 7750: http://www.amazon.com/XFX-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-FX775AZNP4-FX-775A-ZNP4/dp/B007Z3T5JC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Edit: I have zero experience with installing/ upgrading computer parts which is why I'm asking you guys. Thanks in advance!
t1m1d
I'd open up the case and make sure you have a free pcie slot. Assuming you do, the 750 Ti should be able to run off that power supply without problems. That thing just barely sips power. Look here at the Gateway for an example. That thing has a 300-watt power supply as well.

krawtch
it's kind of like a RAM slot, only longer. About 6 inches total I think. Also lines up with the expansion slots on the back of the case. must resist the urge to make penis joke somewhere
AwesomeMcCoolName
Take a picture of the inside of your computer. Definitely the 750Ti though. What cpu do you have? If it is an Ivy bridge i5, then you could easily upgrade the psu to a 500w psu and get something like an r9 270 (or better if you can afford it). t1m1d
PCIe slots are the long horizontal blue slots on this motherboard. Warning huge picture
There
Should work with that motherboard. Make sure you have the right cables from the power supply to connect to the card though.
AwesomeMcCoolName
Should work with that motherboard. Make sure you have the right cables from the power supply to connect to the card though. 750Ti usually doesn't have any additional power connectors. iirc only the Evga ACX and Gigabyte Windforce require a 6 pin pcie power connector, all others get powered off the pcie slot. (and the acx cooler is completely unnecessary). If upgrading to a 500w psu and getting something like an r9 270 ($230~ total) is out of the question, then get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487024 ($150)~
silencedotmid
Dells have shitty, low power explosive psu's, be extra careful. With a 750ti I guess you should be fine though, make sure you have enough case space and the slot itself.

Thanks in advance! The GTX 750 only takes something like 75 or 90 Watts so it should be fine with a 300W psu. Source: Just built my first computer with a 750 like 2 weeks ago actually. With a 750ti I guess you should be fine though, make sure you have enough case space and the slot itself. It will be fine, his full system won't be drawing more than ~200 watt from the wall. Sweclockers tested the 750ti's power consumption in metro last light (so the system is pertty much in full load), and they're using an overclocked extreme edition 4960x and didn't get over 200w. red= highest read consumption green= idle
