Malwarebytes Help

To start off, I'm aware that this is a TF2 trading website, but the Malwarebytes forums are ded (https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/153078-pre-scan-operations-taking-forever/). So I'm pretty much just throwing this out there in case any person that trades virtual hats for a free-to-play game can help with Malwarebytes. Pretty much what's happening with my Malwarebytes is that it never gets out of the Pre-scan Operations. I've once wasted two freakin hours patiently waiting for it to finish. It never got out of the Pre-scan Operations. I know this isn't the Malwarebytes forums, but I'm just putting this out here, and any help is greatly appreciated.

this one's easy.

> uninstall Malwarebytes

> install Microsoft Security Essentials if not on windows 8

> if you're on windows 8, just make sure windows defender is turned on

it's actually a good antivirus lately. use it

You see, I'd do that, but my computer has been 100% organic butthole lately and really slow, and I'm just trying to scan for any evil dongs that could be slowing my computer down

it's not supposed to take that long

Is it supposed to take two hours five minutes and thirteen seconds? Because that's what I'm at right now.

Okay, so I hit cancel, and it found something around 84 cookies or spyware. I deleted them, and now it's running nice. Thanks!

You should spend a little money on getting a more decent antivirus software like Norton 360 or Kaspersky. It may cost you a bit, but it won't cost you as much as it would to get your computer repaired from a nasty virus.

Norton is shit.

+1 Kaspersky,

As for malwarebytes have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version from the site? Check firewall to make sure its connection to the update server isn't being blocked.
